Newbie question on WoWFollow

#1 Nov 17 2004 at 7:06 PM Rating: Decent
Hi All,

I user to be a hardcore gamer, now I'm more casual. I'd like to get WoW, the only thing I have doubts on are the gameplay-hours requirement. I hope I can enjoy without having to log on crazy hours. The only other MMORPG I played was UO back when it *first* came out, and I did not play much because of bad lag.

I have a question of elves vs. gnomes. I am interested in becoming an Hunter Elf. But I also saw gnomes can build machines from part, I find that interesting! But did not see much on it (despite browsing the official sites for HOURS). I noticed there is a "Engineering" profession. The question is, do you think as a Hunter Elf I can build machines too?? Or, if that is not the case, can someone tell me more information on what kinds of things I can accomplish with Gnome building machines.

Before I log off, I want to say whoever wrote the FFXI<>WoW comparison did a good job because it was unbiased in the sense of no flaming. Rock on dude.

P.S. I do not come online much often recently; do not confuse with leaving forever.

Greetings to All,
TechStorm

Well to answer part one the game will take many hours to achieve high level. Playing 2 hours a day it will take you a few months to hit the cap. Probably 6-8 months. On the otherhand you can solo all the way up. Grouping can be fast, but if you are doing instances be prepared to invest 4+ hours.

As to you second question any race can take engineering.
