just wanted to ask if there are set items in WoW ?

while being in wailing Cavers in noticed items with a set item text like in diablo 2(list of set items and which one you already got). dunno the name of it,but all of the items end with "of the fang".

Oh yeah, I forgot about all these items... I'll see about running out to WC tonight and farm the bosses really quick and see if there is a set bonus or anything like that. If there is I'll let ya know. I should be able to finish it sometime today, but if not, it will be Thursday most likely.

Actually, there are more bonuses the more pieces you get. I got two pieces of the set and should have had two more, but people rolled who really REALLY didn't need the pieces (after I told them explicitly at the start that I was there for the set)... so I "lost" two more. But yeah, that set is sweet for a druid or a shaman or maybe a hunter, terrible for a rogue or anyone else.

I added a basic index to the set display page, check out: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/itemset.html

Some of the sets listed there might be nyi, fwiw.

Thanks, Ralea. I've been looking for just that for a while. Looks like there's two sets of "class" armor, one set of each of which is NYI, and the other is from...Stratholme? I'm not too familiar with the high-end instances since I rarely do them.

What is this "set" armor of which you speak?
#9 Nov 16 2004 at 12:05 PM Rating: Decent
its kind of like wearing armor all made by the same craftsmen. It tends to fit together better and thus give more benefit.

The one example i know if is the Defias set. It constitutes 5 pieces (Chest, legs, belt, boots, and gloves). The more pieces of a set you have and wear, the more of a bonus you get (I have the defias chest and defias belt, i get a +10 armor bonus on top of the armor/stats from the 2 pieces). You can tell that you have a piece of set armor because it'll say something to that effect in the armors description, and tell you what other pieces there are. Along with the ones you currently are wearing, and need in order to complete the set.

Go to the AH and just type in Defias with the leather armor section selected and you should see at least one piece of it up for sale. Just looking at the description ought to give you a better idea then what i can explain in words.

You can also get defias set in the deadmines, i have done 8 runs have gotten 2 pieces so far, and a few other things like a blue staff hehe. 5 Stamina, 8 intellect, 5 spirit, was fun =p

Clarification: When i said its like wearing armor made by the same craftsmen, it meant in real life terms. You dont get bonus' for wearing armor crafted by all the same person :P. I was just using the example that armor of all the same type would tend to work better then a mix of different armors.
