Normal, PvP, and RP serversFollow

#1 Nov 12 2004 at 6:23 PM Rating: Decent
What's the difference between the three servers aside from the pvp/character behavorial aspects; for example, would pvm, raids or anything else be different?

Also, regarding the pvp aspects between the server types, I presume that PVP is basically a free for all, whenever-wherever bloodfest right? But what about the Noraml and RP servers? From around the forums, it seems like you'd be safe to tred on alliance land evenif your a member of the Horde, or vice versa, as long as you do not attack NPCs of the opposite factions. Are there any differences in the PVP aspect of the servers between Normal and RP?

Thanks for the answers in advance.

On the issue of PVP it is pretty much up in the air during beta due to no xp loss. As many high lvl players will simply go to a area where there are many newbie players and simply slaughter them on mass. If you are horde and try to enter a alliance area, the guards will KOS you, same for alliance.

I think that where if you are killed by a player over 10 lvl's then you, you should lose no xp or half, and a player attacking someone under 10 lvls and become killed by doing this, will suffer twice the normal XP loss for that lvl, otherwise there will be a non stop flow of high lvl's just slaughtering players making travel and lvling extremely slow and difficult for new people.

Just to clarify, there is NO exp loss in WoW for dying.

The only penalty is durability damage to your equipment, which although can be expensive at times, it's just a minor annoyance.

punchline once full pvp rewards are in there won't be many high level people sitting in newbieland ganking away.

They are working on basicly an honor system. People who participate in PvP gain and LOSE honor. I stressed LOSE because ganking people lower level than you results in LOST honor.

The exact benefits of positive honor haven't been stated exactly but negative honor, it has been stated, will result in lost reputation withing your own faction (horde or alliance). Get a low enough rep and NPCs from the opposite faction won't be the only NPCs that are KOS to you.
