Collector's Edition PollFollow

Who's buying the Collector's Edition and why or why not?

I'm getting it for the map and art book. I think the pets are a joke. They don't fight for you so I see them as no different than the other non-combat pets already in the game. The least they could do is provide extra storage for you. And yes, I have no problem with people who buy the the CE having an advantage in the game. They did spend more money.

But the other extras are enough to make up for the disappointing pets. I just wish they had included a DVD with all of their cut scenes on it. Blizzard's cut scene animations are second to none.

I'm getting it. Probably because I want to support the company more then anything.

I've got it. Mainly, because Blizzard is such a great company. I would rather spend the extra $30 dollars to support them. Although, I must say the extra's would be nice as well.

I ordered in cause I can't stand the idea of not having the special in-game item... I'm not even sure what it is (Unique pets?) but I must have it!

Well in the spirit of democracy, I'll guess I'll cast my "Nay" vote. ^^

I just can't see spending the extra 30 bucks, I'm a college student, and money is tight enough as it is. The things in the CE are nice little additions if you have the cash, but I really don't think they are going to make or break the game or anything.

I support Bliz, and they've done a helluva job with this project from what I've seen so far, but seeing as how this is probably going to be the largest MMO release in history, I don't imagine they'll have to worry about putting food on their plates any time soon =P.

Im on the same page as Palison. But, as an excuse, i also own every Blizzard game since Warcraft 1 or Diablo 1, whichever came first, every expansion, and several books based on games.

Ive preordered my regular copy of WoW, just to make sure i can keep my streak up on owning every game, most of which i have bought on release date except for Warcraft 1, i would have been 9 at the time. I started this... trend... when i was 12 and because obsessed with Warcraft.

If WoW were to be the worst-game-ever(comic book guy impression), which its not based on my play in the beta, i would play it until they shut the servers down, and i plan to.

I also opted for the regular version. I just don't see the need for an exclusive in-game pet. I'll be farming to afford my cockroach though XD

Collecter's Edition for me! Already pre-ordered and all paid up. Mainly for the Art Book and the In-Game Pet.

Also:
Narev or anyone else that havent seen it yet:

The special pets included with the Collector's Edition are the Panda Bear, Zergling, and Mini-Diablo.

The Worldofwarcraft.com site has a link to pictures of them all. Or you might even see them in game now.

Just curious about those who say that the pet was a deciding factor in getting the CE. I don't understand this at all because, as I understand it, the CE pets don't actually do anything for you. Am I missing something here or what? And I don't believe you can even say that they will be rare because of the amount of people that will be buying this game I think there will be plenty of CE pets running around. What is the draw of these pets?

Not my most intelligent reply, but...

It's a Zergling! What more must be said? :)

Granted, it isn't worth the 30 bucks, but add in the art book and I'm sold. :)

Already paid in full for CE. Couldn't care much about the pet, but I think it will be fun to have a mini-Diablo following me around. Mostly its the book, Music CD, but it was the cloth map that sold me.

I've been in love with the cloth map in RPGs ever since I got my first one with Ultima 3 for my C-64. Its rare to find in a game these days (kudos to Bioware for NWN) and always takes me back to the old school computer RPGs.

I have had my copy pre-ordered for around a year and a half now. I pre-ordered back when I "heard" the release date would be June... can you believe that?

Anyways, my reasons for getting CE are, the pets, the fanart, and I just think having a collectors edition of one of the best games will be such a good thing to get. :X, I like all the other adds, but don't feel like going to any site and listing them all, you all know what they are anyways. :X (I also really like the cloth map thing)

OH AND EVERYONE... IN-GAME

"/suggest"

that they should make it so if you have so much reputation from quests with your hometown, that you get a discount on items from vendors, maybe only like 10-15%, I think that'd be really cool. :), Also would motivate people to continue questing near, or in their home-town.

I don't see a whole lot of reason to get the collector's edition. It's not worth an extra two months of play-time money. =p

If your arguement is that you're spending $30 more to help support Blizzard, I would counter and ask if you own every single Blizzard game out, including all 3 for Gameboy, yet? Because, if you don't, then you could support Blizzard just as much by going and picking up a copy of Lost Vikings, for example, for the same $30.

Well, there is certainly a ton of content in the special edition, which I have preordered. The material stuff is mainly what interests me, the map, art book, cd, and the behind the scenes dvd. Does anyone remember how good the War 3 special edition was, I am hoping they will include dvd movies on the behind the scenes just like that puppy had.

The in game pets were just a ratification of my decision, I mean, a zergling, the brood at my disposal to wipe out the mighty horde, what more can I ask for? Well the beta has been great so far, and with free multiple chars, unlike ffxi , replay seems high to me in this game, I am not certain I can play this game as long as ffxi, but I am definately certain that I will have more fun, and after way to many days and days of ffxi, and too much waiting around in EVE, which was a beautiful game with a great concept,... uh the point was , I have learned fun is much more important in games than time spent, and I am not an uber elitest, thank god.

Sleath sounds just like me, Waiting for Eve, being sick of FFXI. However, being a college student and being flat broke (and in debt) I will be unable to purchase the CE. But If I had the money I would buy it, looking over art the team did as well as a movie to watch (last CE was Red Alert 2, Old but still enjoyed it). I agree with everyone who plans to buy it, but because im a broke college student I will need to save up for the monthly payments.
