Go to darnassus. Find the pink teleporter-thingy behind the bank and run through it. Go down to the docks and wait for the boat to Auberdine.

When you get to Auberdine, the docks have two piers. Go straight across to the other pier and wait for the other boat there to take you to Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands.

Here's the hard part. Run out of Menethil, down the road, simply stay on the road, and follow it all the way around to the southeast part of the map that leads you through a couple tunnels called Dun Algaz until you reach Loch Modan. This part of the trip, overall, will be through hostile territory of creatures above your level. You might die once. Don't let it get you down.

Loch Modan's road has two different forks to the west, one to the north and one far to the south past Thelsamar. Take either one through the tunnel into Dun Morogh and get to the main road that runs east-west. It's the road you'll already be on if you take the south exit.

Follow the road across the zone past Kharanos. The road will bend north and you will want to look for the ramp on the right side that leads up to Ironforge.

If you want to go to human lands rather than dwarf, find "tinker town" in Ironforge and run into the funny swirly tunnel to go to the subway system that connects the two capitals. That will take you to Stormwind.
