As all gamers know, Gamespot.com has got to be the best english gamesite on the net and the most popular (along with ign.com)

Recently (still in btw) a poll was taken on what MMORPG that gamers are looking forward to the most. Here are the results thus far:

EverQuest II 2728 (20%)
World of Warcraft 5697 (43%)
Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed 1262 (9%)
The Matrix Online 2171 (16%)
Other 1351 (10%)

http://www.gamespot.com/ if you want to cast your vote. Safe to say that WoW is kinda in the lead. :D

Just felt the need to post this as I download the client. 12 more hours to go. :(

Edited for an update. You guys online atm must have voted ;D

As all COMPETANT gamers know, gamespot.com and ign.com are the biggest corporate sellouts of any game related website. They suck.

You are so right. The competant gamers all know that. Funny how you misspelled the word that means to be adequately knowledgeable.

Kinda ironic huh?

They suck because they have corporate ties? Geeez, you are aware that you are playing video games, which take millions of dollars to make, and not a carrot, which takes some independent work outside....

Besides, sites with corporate ties make me happy. Why? Simply because they are closer to the inside then we are so we can get all the juicy info we need. Face it, the only other site that I can think of that provides as much info as Gamespot and Ign is 1up and thats because they are runned by EGM. *Sigh* Oh how I love when people make corporations seem like the devil...

Here's a job for you: Find me a gaming site that's as popular as the 3 sites I mentioned and not backed by corporate money. Good luck ;P
