I normally wouldn't ask this question seeing how the answer depends on the person asking the question, but seeing as how i probably won't get into the Open Beta for quite some time I thought I would ask. I've played EQ, DAOC, FFXI, and COH and my favorites were by fac DAOC and COH. My main complaint with FFXI was the massive time sink and the lack of getting a good group. City of Heroes was extremely fun for the first month but after awhile it just got stale. What I'm looking for in a MMORPG is a game where you dont have to spend 40+ hours a week to accomplish anything. I'm juggling school, work, and a girlfriend and play games whenever I have any free time. I've been addicted to Diablo 2 for quite some time, and even though i still love the game to death, I am getting tired of it and have done just about anything that can be done in it. I've heard a lot of complaints about the new patch making the game a massive time sink, but I'm trying to gather all sorts of opinions on the game before i can judge it myself. EQ2 seems like it will be the same time sink the first game was, but I'm still looking into WoW. Any Opinions on this matter will be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time.

Cough...4th time copied and pasted

Thank god for the WoW community...

In my first video here, I give an example on what is like to start a new character. (A gnome, btw. Each race has their own wya of starting) The little gnome that could (right click, save as) 101 mb

Here, we have a good example of an instance quest. Instance quests are basically dungeons where you NEED a party in order to complete. Instance quests also progress the story of WoW. This is a high level instance and one of the best PvE movies I have ever seen. Journey to Stratholme (right click, save as) 192 mb

Here is a perfect example of the game in its graphical glory. This is from the korean beta testers. Good day! 56 mb

This is a good example how PvP combat plays a major role in WoW. This video, btw, shows a battle between horde and alliance 400 players strong. After the beginning lag points, notice how the engine handles the massive fight. Still laggy but impressive imo. Now tell me that this game doesn't require a community...The Big one (Torrent) 300 mb

Here's a short and sweet PvP video. Bucho 4tehwin 2 52 mb

And one more on the larger, more focus scale. A Quiet Night in Hillsbrad (right click, save as) 190 mb

Lets say you need a good example of fighting in the wilderness. Here's a video of a druid Night Elf showing the complexity of battle. Mushizo the Feral Prophet 25 mb

And for my last video, well, it's a secret killer. Trust me, you'll enjoy it. ;) Shhh, it's a secret... (right click, save as) 57 mb

This should help you decide whether it is the game for you or not. Look at the movies and compare them to what you have experienced in other MMOs. If it looks fun, give it a try.

FFXI was a HUGE time sink. Granted I've only been playing since Fileplanet tossed out the final stress test offer, but from what I've experienced you do NOT need to invest a good chunk of your life playing this game. You can get by on your own (no parties if you don't want to....YAY!). You can also go around and farm, exp, quest and craft all at the same time...how great is that? Blizzard has done a hell of a job on this one.

I highly recommend this to anyone in a similar situation as Hiro.

This game is made for the casual gamer.

The Rest system is great. If you're logged off for awhile (and log off in town or an inn), next time you log on you'll get double the experience for awhile.

I got 1100 exp off a quest the other night. Logged on, killed the named mob for the quest and completed it. Double experience is a good thing.

Actually, thats exactly what the quest gave you. The double experience only counts toward monsters. If you notice, complete a quest with the bonus and the slider showing the end of the bonus moves as well. Kill a monster and it will not.

Double experience for monsters is still a great thing. Smiley: grin
