Hi guys, I just started playing WoW recently and I just have a few questions for you.

1. I get alot of lag, Any recommendations?

2. While exploring major cities I get a serious graphics problem. Sometimes I lose textures and Most often I get so many added textures I am unable to see anything(mind you it was kinda cool the first time I saw all of those pretty colors.) Any recommendations?

Ok I have gone to the main site and look at the troubleshooting guide but the stuff they asked me to change in the config.WTF file was not even there.

It would help if you posted your system specs. Make sure you have up-to-date video card drivers and at least DirectX 9.0c (I believe).

Processor speed
Amount of memory (and type if available)
Video card
etc.

Also try disabling your antivirus while playing and close any unnecessary programs. How much free space do you have on your hard drive? You may need to free up some additional space and/or defragment your drive.

Assuming you have Windows as an OS, you could go to start, run, type in DXDIAG, press ok, and that should bring up a window displaying most of your hardware specs. Hope I helped:)

Yes im having this problem also i enter a big city. everything works good for a second (exept the lag) but when i change the way im looking everything goes frizzy. i cant see a damn thing like the buildings exploded and i can only see colors... but... if i look a dif. direction and play with the mouse some i can somtimes get it to go back to normal. after a wile it stops working all together.... i had to use the mini map to find my way out of Orgramar(sp?) this makes it very hard to do anything in main citys.. and it is all main citys (i checked) it is getting very frustrating... Please O please help :o)

i have a Gateway comp
3.4 Ghz cpu
G-Force 5800 62Mbz
254 Mbz Ram
80 Gbz HD
Norton Anti Virus (i have firewall off wile playing)
and all other programs off wile playing
also i have DirectX 9.0

BTW it plays FFXI smooth as Glass

Edit for Spelling

Man, I'm running less then half your system and I have very little lag. Update the video drivers. Update windows (avoid SP2). I had to update my NIC drivers. My NIC drivers! Can you believe it! Get the newest DirectX. Run your anti-virus, spy-bot search & destroy, ad-aware, and defrag. Thats really about all you can do unless you drop your display setup. Which with your system. You don't need to.

Oh, get rid of Nortan Virus. It will kill your system. Use AVG from Grisoft. Its not as problematic.
