Ok, last night i was looking on the forums and found the d/l wow client thread, got the bit torrent, d/l'd WoW in only 3 hours! I was totally psyced that i had WoW! So i go to install it, and it is really slow. No problem, i thought, and went to go watch tv. Every commercial break, i'd check on the instalation, you know and see how its doing. At about 75% it says "Instalation failed, error found in sound.MPQ to C:/program files/WoW" i tried over and over again for hours. I finally check troubleshooting, read its installation notes, but no help. anyone else having this problem? Can anyone help me out?

I downloaded and installed with no problembs at all. try reactivating the torrent and when it asks for a save place choose the samer one you have now. it will do a scan of the files to see what you have and what is missed hopefully it will detect the corrupt file and re download it.

I had the same problem, but when I hit the ok it went from 25% to about 95% download in about a second. Then finished the last 5% without any problem. When I installed it, there didn't seem to be any problem with it.

That can be a problem. Also, don't forget to defrag after you install it and download it. It really ruined my freshly defragged system.

You poor poor man. To be stuck with WinME! I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Well, hit WinKey+E to bring up your Windows Explore. Right click on the drive you need to defrag, go to properties. Look for a tab called tools. There should be three choices. One of them should be defrag. Of course, I'm going by my Win98 knowledge. Haven't used ME in years.

go to the start menu, select control panel.

If you got windows xp go to category view and select "preformance and mainence"

Then select "rearange items to make your hard disk to make programs go faster" and walla your set to defrag.

Your getting a new comp in feb? Cool. About all I need to do is upgrade my motherboard, processor, and ram. Would love to get a new case. Especially that Thermaltake Tsunami. Right now I am just running at:

Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53Ghz
384MB SDRAM (Not even DDR)
67.2GB Hard Drives (27.2 ATA66, 40 ATA100)
MSI K7T Turbo Limited Edition w/RAID Motherboard
Gigabyte GeForceFX 5900XT 128MB
Creative Labs Audigy2 Gamer Limited Edition
MSI DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive 52x

Yeah, my new comp (i hope,if my budget allows) :
2.8ghz or more processor
256 mb video card
at least 80 gb harddrive
If i can i want a flat screen=P
im not too concerned about the sound as log as its 5.1
and i want at least 48x cdrwwriter drive/dvd-rom

With that i bet i could run wow on full no prob

Ahhhhhhh, if only feb wasnt 4 months away =(, o well halo 2 will ahve to keep me occupied untill then =P

If your a gamer, upgrade to 1GB of RAM. You'll love the difference. I built a computer for my brother about a month ago:

AMD Athlon FX-53
MSI Motherboard
Mushkin 1GB DDR PC-3200
WD Raptor 10k RPM 74GB HD.
Thermaltake Tsunami
MSI Radeon 9800 128MB
Creative Labs Audigy2 Platinum Ex

This machine sings beautifully.

We bought all his stuff from New Egg. They have great prices and had everything we needed to build his system. I have used them before, when I built some of my college friends computers. Monarch is another good computer company. You can find them at:

Monarch Computer will build your system for you. I believe NewEgg has prebuilt computers. Both companies are good for the hardware to build computers. If you want a good prebuilt computer then I would recommend Toshiba or Dell. Gateway and I are having problems with my 3 year warranty. I want them to keep my laptop working for the last 6 months of the warranty, and they think that they shouldn't have to. At least Monarch you can get the equipment you wish in the system rather than having some cheap motherboard running the entire system like a Dell.
