It all depends on what you like to do. If you like to take hits and protect everyone else, be a warrior. If you like to play a support role and keep everyone going, be a shaman. Last I heard, both classes do about the same melee damage.

But personally I vote for warrior.

Warriors do more damage, even counting shaman spells, and they take more pounding to bring down. People will never rely on you for healing duties; your role is more clear-cut and defined. You will wade in and kill stuff. If you're the primary tank, you'll wade in and kill stuff while spamming taunt. Straight-forward.

If you play Shaman, you have to deal with a lot more ambiguity. Don't be fooled by all the combat abilities, Shaman damage is LESS than a warrior's overall. However, Shaman bring a lot of secondary and support abilities into play. In parties, your primary assignment will be making other people's lives easier, through the use of totems, buffs, and heals. Your secondary purpose is damage. I may have overstated a bit, shaman damage is nice even though it is lower than a warrior's.

Being a shaman requires a bit more flexibility and situational awareness. The shaman has specific counters to specific threats, and if you can't integrate all of your situational abilities smoothly you will suffer for it. However, a well-played shaman has no real weakness.

I've explained the differences as best I can. The rest is up to you.

He asked us to Vote, he prolly already looked at the pros and cons of each class and cant decide, or hes just really bored.

My Vote: Shaman

In my experience casters are funner and more dynamic but thats just me =)

Edit: I was informed "funner" is not a word and that i will most likely be insulted for the rest of my days

My picks would be shaman or hunter, but warrior works well with the Tauren racial skills.

My rogue would have to disagree with you hehehe, nothing more exciting than sneaking up on your prey, backstabbing, sinister strike, gouge, backstab, strike/or eviscerate.

Now on my mage im more of a range person in which its frostbolt, firebolt, firebolt, fireblast, frost nova, run away, fireblast.

Oh damn....I just proved the point that every class is involving, and you wont be just a taunt bot or get behind the mob and backstab every now and then. Plus, every class gets even more to do as they level up.

Zanon, I can't do what you're asking me to do. You want me to tell you what to be. Yet I don't know what you like. I lack sufficient information to make such a decision. If you want me to vote without telling my anything more, you'd be better off flipping a coin.

-Well i think that was his whole reason in making the post =p, he wants us to do a "flip the coin" kinda thing in chosing his class. Its more fun then flipping a coin, and besides flipping a coin isnt random at all. If you did the math right you could always predict what side it would land on.

Really? I would like you to explain this, please. Seriously, I would.

P.S. Zanon, for what it's worth, I flipped a coin and it came up warrior. So be a warrior because... um... the coin said so.

Well it seems warrior won the vote.

After a day of stalemate (my brain sort of stopped and refused to let me choose) i can now go my merry way on killing things.

Thanks to all who participated .

Seems a simple question:

Magic or Melee.

Do you want to be in the front slicing ribbons in your foes with your weapons, or standing back and blasting them with arcane energies?

-What i meant is that if you had someone to do the math and you flicked the coin upwards so that it flipped ( i guess thats how you would flip a coin) you could predict what side it would land on. It would take a whole bunch of math and stuff - which is why it is "random" in a practical sense because you dont have a neighborhood physicist sitting at the table to help you figure out which side the coin or die will land on. If you think about it it makes sense.

A few friends and I have gone PvPing in Darkshore a few times and every time it ends in a bunch of alliance zerging us. Usually the only one to survive/kill the most alliance off before dying is my shaman buddy. Everyone else bites the bullet quick.

Rogue. Rogue is a melee powerhouse and is very fun to play.
