Will it be hard for me, race X, and my friend, race Y, to play together?

If you are both Alliance or both Horde, it is reasonably safe to travel to another starting area, as long as you stay on the roads. The only starting area that is difficult to reach is the Night Elf area, and it can be done easily if you know how. You and your friend ARE playing the same faction, right?

I saw this in the sticky and we had a problem attempting this last night. My friend wanted to be a Taruan (no, not spelled right, be easy) and i wanted to play undead. However it appeared the undead started on the East Continent and he started on the West continent. So I had to give up playing the Undead and went for a Troll (no pun LOL), then we were able to play together.

Anyone know if they can get friends to play as Horde using undead and other races early on? Or is there a special way to cross those continents that can be attained from a lower level like under 10?

Thanks much,

Isolo

Wow, the Zepplin from the orginal WC, thanks for bringing back memories.

Anyway, so yes, I'm sure this game has something like that, however, you know what I'm afraid of! FFXI, I just assumed in order to purchase any ticket to fly anywhere, I would have to time sink 4 or 5 months first.

Is the Zepplin avail for noobs? Or can you tell me how and where I can get one?

Thanks again for your help,

Isolo in WOW

You can play your undead still, just head outh of Brill, which is the second Undead city and just south of there you will find the zepplin tower. Take the sepplin on the west (I believe) side and you will end up in Orgrimmar. Run into Orgrimmar and pick up the flight path in the large tower in the first open area. From here you will head south to... I forgot the Orc city, but from there you can head west, which will take you to The Barrens area. Take the next road south and you will end up in Crossroads. Take a moment to stop and grab the flight path there as well. From here you will head south to Camp Mojache (sp?) and head west once again. This wlil bring you to the Tauren starting area if you stay on the road and you will be able to meet up with your friend.

Be sure to stay along regular roads during this time if you are trying to make this commute while level 1-5. Although it only takes someone 1-2 hours to get to level 6ish, making this trek while at a starting level is quite hard. Hopefully I've made this a little easier for you to get together with your friend. :)

To get from...to...:

Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh
Take the tram in the Dwarven District of Stormwind

Elwynn Forest, Teldrassil
Go to Dun Morogh first.

Dun Morogh, Elwynn Forest
Take the tram in Tinkertown of Ironforge

Dun Morogh, Teldrassil
-Leave Ironforge and follow the road entirely east to Loch Modan
-There are two tunnels to Loch Modan, go through either and take the road to the north end.
-Go through the tunnel (Dun Algaz) to the Wetlands and follow the road all the way to the west end of the zone
-Take the boat in Menethil Harbor that goes to Auberdine (right dock)
-Take the other boat in Auberdine to Teldrassil
-Run through the pink glowy thing when you land

Teldrassil, Dun Morogh
-Find the pink glowy thing behind the bank in Darnassus
-Run down to the docks and take the boat to Auberdine
-Take the other boat in Auberdine to Menethil
-Follow the road as it goes east and then south, into a tunnel
-Go through Dun Algaz into Loch Modan, and take either of the western tunnels in Loch Modan into Dun Morogh
-Follow the road until it passes Kharanos and turns north, look for Ironforge up in the mountains

Teldrassil, Elwynn
Go to Dun Morogh first

Mulgore, Durotar
-Leave the road to the east of Bloodhoof Village to The Barrens.
-Follow the path to the Gold Road, and follow that most of the way north, through the Crossroads, and take the next right into Durotar.
-Follow road to its end to get to Razor Hill. Orgrimmar is along the road to the north.

Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades
Go to Orgrimmar first.

Durotar, Mulgore
-Take the road west out of Razor Hill into the Barrens.
-Follow the Gold Road south, through the Crossroads, to Camp Mojache (I think?)
-Follow that road west into Durotar. Thunder Bluff is north of Bloodhoof Village.

Durotar, Tirisfal Glades
Go to the gates of Orgrimmar at the north end of the zone, and go east to the zeppellin station. There is a connection to Tirisfal there.

Tirisfal Glades, Mulgore
Go to Durotar first.

Tirisfal Glades, Durotar
Find the zeppelin station between Brill and the Undercity. (I forget exactly where it is.) Take the blimp to Orgrimmar.

Free. But you have to wait for it to arrive, unlike "air" flights that leave when you ask for it. (Meaning griffons, wyverns, bats and hippogryphs.)

The only kinda hard trip I have found is for the night elves to get to dwarven/human lands.

Horde side is pretty easy to get from faction to faction.

Yea, i heard that was the hardest race to join up with others.

However the Allakhazam FAQ up top, says its easy "if you know how".

Do you know how? Can you share?

As mentioned above. I'll be more explicit though:

As a Night Elf, you start near the village of Aldrassil in Shadowglen. You need to leave Shadowglen down the road to the south, follow it as it bends west through the town of Dolanaar, and proceed all the way to the west into Darnassus.

In Darnassus, go straight ahead toward the bear tree on the island by itself. That's the bank. Go around the bank and on to the next island with the pink glowing teleporter. Run through it and you will be in Rut'theran "Village". Down by the water is a dock where the boat to Auberdine harbors.

Get on the boat to Auberdine when it arrives, and when it moors at Auberdine, run straight across to the pier on the other side of the dock and wait for the other boat. This one goes to Menethil Harbor in the Wetlands.

When you land in Wetlands, you will be in for the hard part of your journey. I'd link you a picture of the Wetlands map, but curiously I seem to be lacking one. I'll fix this shortly. Put simply though, there is a big long road from the far west (where you are) to about 2/3 of the way east, where it turns south to the bottom of the map. There is another road that forks off to the north, but you want the east/south road. This area is HOSTILE. Stay on the road, and you won't get attacked *much*, but you might have to make a corpse run or two. Don't let that dismay you.

When you get to the end of the road, you will enter Dun Algaz, a combination of tunnels and upward mountain paths. Just run straight through it. There is a section where there are orcs, but you should hopefully be able to ignore them.

Dun Algaz ends in Loch Modan. The road, again going south, has two forks to the west, both of which go through mountain passes to Dun Morogh. Either is fine to use. If you take the first one, you'll end up running south in Dun Morogh instead. You do want to go to Dun Morogh, either way.

When the north path meets it, the south road is already going east to west. Stay going west for over half the length of the zone, and you will eventually pass Steelgrill's Depot and Kharanos on the left. Shortly after this, the road will turn north and the ramp up into Ironforge will be on the right side soon after.

Ironforge is the home of the dwarves. They however start on the other side of Kharanos, which may make a better meeting point for a gnome or a dwarf.

If your goal is the human lands, go into Ironforge. It is a gigantic wheel. You enter it at 8 o'clock. Tinkertown is the gnome area, at 3 o'clock. There is a tunnel in Tinkertown by the mailbox that goes into a blue swirly area that is for the Deeprun Tram. This is the dwarven subway that goes to Stormwind, the capital of the humans. Use the city map to guide yourself out of Stormwind and down the first road, and you will be in Goldshire, the human equivalent of Dolanaar or Kharanos.

Simple, eh?
