It is a question I keep trying to find an answer to (so as to not appear silly), but I can't seem to find one. Because of my dl speed I will not be able to join ST2, or Open Beta. I will be in Retail though, so hope to see you all soon.

For those that have played FFXI you know what i'm trying to ask. Is there some flag I throw up that says i'm looking for a party, or will I be standing around shouting?

I'm just a noob (which feels great, btw) but so far the only way I see people partner up is by asking if anyone wants to party on group chat. I haven't found a party option. I'd really like to - I'm playing the Hunter class, which means I'm great with a bow and crappy at short range (you can not fire a bow at close range, I have to use a dagger for now). I get to hit the mob 1-3 times before it comes too close, then I have to scratch away at it with my dagger...

I guess I don't really have an answer for you then, huh? Oh well..

Hey to me that is better then no answer. If that is the way it truly is then I will probably end up being the silent one waiting for invites, unless their is a quest/instance I really want to do.

I wouldn't mind seeing what FFXI had with the icon next to your name when you were actively seeking party. I just hated how most of the time spent in FFXI was sitting on your rump or farming (which I hope never to do again).

Plus remembering all your posts from the FFXI boards I trust you opinion.

There is a party option but I forgot where *sigh* Check the social options...I think there is one >.>

It's certainly not as visual as FFXI's version of seek , more like a reminder that you're open for a party.

King hit it on the nose that most parties are formed in general chat. Its lovely how seemlessly interacting with the community nets you a place in a party. This is not like FFXI where you are told to take any conversation to tell, no matter what it is.

On a side note, how's your new found newbieness going, King? Got any further with hunter or did ya try something else?

By the way, if you want something similar to red mage, give either druid, shaman or warlock a try. Warlock are big on enfeebles while druid and shaman does the jack of all trades thing.

If you do /who, you can check the box on the top to be seeking. Also the list will say who is in a party, who is not in a party, and who is looking.
