I'm already receiving spam from IGN and Fileplanet, and not a beta key. This is seriously fraudulent advertisement. Not only can their servers not handle the hits, their 'CS Team' can't do their jobs. Issue the goddamn keys already, what's the hold up???? Vivendi having their rounds with Fileplanets succuclent **** hole? A Possibility, eh? Yes. Quite, so.

I'm pissed!

I have also not received my key.

I only signed up last night. I have a friend email me that he has received his key and has started the download.

He said that its going very slow. No doubt that there are a lot of people clamoring to get in at this point.

I just hope that I get my key by the time I get out of work.

Just curious, for the people who have received a key, when did you apply on the fileplanet website.

Hope to see you soon in game!

thanks for your comfort.

that still is not going to stop me from harassing fileplanet once the game goes retail. i'm starting to devise ways to mess with them :) muwahahahahahha!!!

i shall bring the planet known as file... DOWN!!!!!

now, where's my beta key!?!

EDIT: i signed up last night (for beta) at 10PM. i opened my account around 7PM. Then i spent about 2 hours click, Enter, on the AuthKey page on blizzard.signup, because i was under the impression that the beta key under the 'my account/beta key archive' was for the current beta. turns out it's for the previous stress test beta.

bastards!

I got the key, here are some notes:

I signed up around 3pm yesterday, got charged twice because THEIR page said it had an error and to go back and resubmit. It took 2-3 hrs to be recongized as a subscriber. Signed up for beta, WoW. 5 hrs later no key. Posted nasty message to their CS

8 hrs later no key, got mad went to bed. Came this morning key was here, signe up through WoW site for account, waiting for DL now, I have NO ******* idea why i paid them 19 bucks for a dl thats slow as the oen direct from blizzard, but thats okay because now that I have my key im going to call my card company and cancel BOTH charges since they lied to me when the said i could play the game YESTERDAY.

In any case, make sure you did SIGN up at the wow sign up for beta, its nto an automatic thing once you subscribe you have to sign up for it after you subscribe, even if you subscribed from the wow beta subscribe to play link.

sweet jesus, i just got my key...

and followed up with paypal.com to file a claim on that ridiculous charge fileplanet is chargin.

if you haven't received a key, fileplanet is making the rounds. get ready.

also, i heard the d/l was bittorrent. that is ridiculous, what the **** was the point of getting fileplanet involved if they're just torrenting the download (which feeds from other downloaders, and not from one central server!). i'm really disgusted in the dealings blizzard has with fileplanet, and also what fileplanet calls 'customer service.'

silliness.

be patient, you'll recieve a key.

Don't get your hopes up to much even when the download completes. I have had WoW installed for about 3 hours now and created an account for it with Blizzard right after the installation and still can't sign on due to some BS about my login stuff is incorrect and/or invalid. =)

fileplanet is a load of crap, anything associated with it pisses me off

I'm starting to doubt that I'll ever get into open beta, but if I do, I will have gotten it from the official site.

I signed up around 7:30 last night and finally got my key this morning around 10:30 or so. I did download the client last night though via the torrent file that someone has posted. I'm now a level 4 Undead Warlock. Cool. Enjoying it so far but the world server I was on just crapped out. Be patient, you'll get your key soon enough.

4:11 PM .... All my ******** has finally paid off *laugh*.

For those interested in what to expect, 4pm was 20 hours after I had originally signed up and ~17 hours after I signed up for the WoW Stress Test (took 3 hours to actually confirm my subscription to fileplanet).

Leaving work in 45 minutes and hopefully will get some game time in tonight!

Good luck to those still waiting! And ***** fileplanet! :)

Well...once you get your key it doesn't get any better. I've had mine and had my Blizzard account created for a while now and can't log in. I called Blizzard and they said "Keep trying. We're experiencing high volume now and can only register so many log ins at a time." So, this entire event wasn't planned out very well. Luckily, I was already a member of gamespy/fileplanet/ign so this didn't cost me any extra money. I'm just feeling iffy about whether Blizzard's servers will be able to handle the traffic during release or if I'll be here with my new purchase staring at a screen that says: "Unable to connect"

to all those trolling this board, a quick response to your bombastic attitude: stop payments, google it.

grats to all who have received their keys :)

this torrent is killing me. terribly slow, 30kbps :(

Poopfist:

I think it is very noble of you to be doing this, but also kind of ridiculous. Not on your behalf, but on the behalf of fileplanet.com. Where the hell is there customer support. They do not even have a working e-mail address for customer support (usually goes along the lines of support@<sitenamehere>). Vivendi's choice of going with Fileplanet was purely based on a sort of 'rub my back, and i'll rub yours' motive. Kick backs is what they're called. Too bad for us peons getting twirled around some lame internet sites fingers (which I add are not hosting the download, we the users are, that's how torrents work). I find it very sleezy for fileplanet to even be involved with a beta test, and to be profiting off of it, which clearly goes against the tradition of beta testing (the gamers doing the company a favor).

Poopfist, you're a very helpful person, too bad capitalist fileplanet doesn't take as much initiative to help, as their suckered peon customer's (including myself goddammit).

cheers.

Monday at 6pm pst. I signed up with file planet. Tuesday at sometime around 10pm pst I recieved my key. During the interm time I found a link at battle net that had the file planet download for the client and dl'd WoW at about 200kbs.

File planet sucks, I know it can't take that long since the process is probably fully automated and computerized, with very little if any human interaction. Bah, I am canceling my account tonight when I get home, they got what little money they could out of me, and will never again.
