I got one after six hours, but I guess I should be happy as you are still waiting on 11 hours. That blows. I doubt I will be paying for something like this again.

I am extremely frustrated with this whole thing, so I sent a message over to fileplanet's customer service. I figured i'd post it here so maybe I can incite a riot. *laugh* Hopefully something comes of it....

To whom it may concern:

I subscribed to your service yesterday night (11-01-04) at around 8pm EST. After waiting a few hours (Extremely annoying, but understandable due to heavy loads), I was finally able to sign up for the WoW Final Stress Test (around 10:30pm EST), which was my whole reason for subscribing to your service. It is now 9:30 AM on 11-02-04 and I have yet to receive my beta key or a link to download the client. That is 13.5 hours since you processed my credit card.

I have been patient, but this is getting ridiculous. The Final Stress Test only lasts one week, and already I will have lost a day of that, if not more. If action is not taken soon on your part, I will be issuing a chargeback on my credit card for services unrendered. I realize that it is only $7.90, but it's the principle of the matter. I have already been discouraged by the fact that your pricing information is very misleading (I have already encountered three different rates for a monthly subscription!), and this horrid customer service is not boding well.

I understand that the loads are heavy and out of your control, but in the same respect, this is the service you offer, advertise and charged me for. I think that I have been more than patient. Please see to the matter and convince me that my subscription was worth my time and money.

Thank you,

Signed up last night, no keys.

Am I worried or complaining?

No.

Why? Because I waited until the last minute to sign up. Of course it's going to be overloaded.

Same thing tends to happen when new expansions come out, everyone is loading it up and overloading the registration servers trying to register there copy.

It's not really fileplanets fault. They are doing the best they can.

Should feel lucky we even get this chance a week early to get in.

Just checked my home e-mail (at work now). Got my key. Now I just have to wait until I get home (which will be late, cause gotta go vote). Then can start downloading.

Oh well, may end up being couple days into stress test before I get on, but I'll get some more use out of fileplanet at least.

That Leisure Suit Larry: Uncut and Uncensored looks fun Smiley: grin

Fileplanet's e-mail system is a different server from subscription, download, etc...

It was really backed up. All those new subscripers were getting 3 e-mails each.

1) The receipt of subscriptions e-mail
2) The follow-up explaining benefits of subscription
3) The WoW link and key

That's alot of e-mails to send out to hundreds of people. The poor server was overworked.

Then there would be alot of verification e-mails that people were trying for too.

edit: Hey look, my troll visited me here too. Isn't that sweet.

Seoman, Seoman tsk, tsk. What did I tell ya about feeding that troll? Here are some rate ups to counter that troll and providing important info. BTW, I can see you couldn't resist paying 8 bucks to sign up haha

Figured I could get some more use out of it besides the stress test download. Will make Open Beta download easier, and I signed up for the Wish Beta (not sure if that will be fileplanet, but just in case..).

I DO NOT KNOW WHY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM....after I signed up, not only did I instantly receive my Key, but the key was on the sign-up success page.

I think maybe some people missed that...
