Since its gonna be a while for people to download the open beta and others to download the stress test take some time and post here from what game your defecting from to play wow.
there are some rules however. Dont game bash and no flaming. just make it simple . I will karma kill any trolls and expect everyone else to do so.

I come from Eve second genesis. Only mmo i could actually get into and made me crave more for wow since its steeting is a future setting. before that i came from daoc and ffxi.

I came from FFXI! ^_^
Great game. But it's easy to get burned out when you try to keep all your friends at the same level! O_o; I ended up running back and forth from Sandoria to Windurst all the time. :-p

Anyways, we all know where I came from...
A little game called FFXI, where all the anime fan boys roam freely. Good game till I finally realized the tedium built into it. Now, like the rest of ya, I'm waiting for the chance to fight along side with my orcish brethren. For the horde!!!!!!!!!!!

Hrmm... well, I'm not really defecting from any games, since I had quit FFXI before I had even thought about giving WoW a go. However, I did go back to SWG for a short while (I really didn't have anything else better to do), so I guess you could say that I'm defecting for that.
I did have some fun going back through the Neverwinter Nights series.

Im defecting from FFXI and CoH. Been keeping myself busy with Matrix beta.....

I finally discovered what a timesink FFXI was, and me being a high schooler with a weekend job, I can't spend 8 hours at once just grinding my life away. But of course, I am an MMORPG addict, and I wasn't about to just quit FFXI and be done with MMOs. One of my linkshell members had already left FFXI earlier (Hagakure for those who know him from these boards (or MrHaga, rather)) to absorb everything he could about WoW, so I started looking into it. I've always been a fairly casual fan of the WarCraft series. They're awesome games, I've just never gotten all that hooked by RTS's. But the whole horde/alliance story was really cool to me. I read even more, saw a bunch of screenshots, watched some short in-game movies, listened to some music from it, and even heard what the different races/genders sounded like voice-wise, and now I'm hooked before even playing it.
I hope Blizzard won't let me down with this one. ^^

Oh yeah, how is that Matrix game coming along? I remember seeing it up on FP.

Its a cool game, havnt really played it long enough to get a good read on how its progressing. It takes a while to get used to how combat works but once you do its a pretty fun and solid game. Its missing a lot of textures though, I keep running into building with purple colored floors and pictures frames that have just white boxes but its still fun nonetheless.
FFXI. Can't put in the time required there.

FFXI - total playtime is about 74days over a 1yr span.
Apparently not even halfway to finishing the EXP grind of lvl 75 O.o so buhbuy ^^
Great game though, just to much lvling to be "fun" anymore.

Alliance over here! I'm first gonna try out a Dwarven Rogue, then maybe switch if I don't like rogue. But I'm most likely gonna stay with Dwarf, at least for my main.

Coming from FFXi, for basically the same reasons as stated above. Made it to 61 White mage and realized there's better things in life than killing the same ol' mobs i've been killing since level 10. (Come on now...murderous bunnies being able to kill me at level 60?!?) D/Ling WoW as we speak and can't wait to unzip and install.
