in FF terms /em dies. We have no clue when it starts. read half the posts in here and you will realize that. about costing anything no its a free download and you can play the game for free as long as the beta is still going (which will probibly be up until a fiew days before release. There is a ton of speculation on when open beta starts and all we know is that blizzard said soon october 7. but if you know anything about blizzard that could mean next year

Hey Haga...I wanted to check out WoW, I went to the website and read around....it actually looks really good...I'm gonna try the beta, and who knows, maybe I'll end up joining ya. I've discovered a bunch of things about FFXI lately that's starting to make it lose its luster.

um...not tryin to um...persuade you or um..nothing...but... here's a couple of things I know you have a problem with on FFXI, that ol Blizzard has worked hard to prevent in WoW...the quotes are from WoW Beta testers

I know you've been trying to put together a perfect static for months...guess what in WoW there's no need:

"in many quests you ARE forced into groups (most of elite quests), but any class can be part of it (no perfect set up), and if you can't find a group, you can solo around the area waiting for more people to come. "

I know you're busy with school and all so it's hard to dedicate a lot of time to FFXI. According to this guy (and everyone other beta tester almost) Hours and hours aren't needed to get stuff accomplished:

"Going to school and working full time - would be impossible if I played FFXI. In WoW I can log in for 30 mins and do some quests/get some XP or I can play all day. I don't need to schedule my time around the game; I schedule the game around my RL job and school."

Stroper chymes getting japped by botters and jacking up the prices of sniper's? Guess what my friend WoW has minimized the monopoly on rare items through the use of instanced dungeons.

sorry if I sounded like an infomercial, but i know you've been having problems with those issues on FFXI bro...just tryin to help a friend out ;)

I might seriously consider suspending my account on FFXI for this game. Like I said, I'll try it when open beta is announced, and I may convert, we'll see. With school, and especially since I'm in the IB program at my high school, I have a lot of homework, and it'll only get heavier as I move up in grades. WoW, by your description, seems to fit my available times a lot better.

By the way, what faction/race/class are you gonna be?
