Blizzard has completely and totally blew this bigtime. They could not have handled this situation any worse. Their tight lipped attitude makes people feel like they are just being ignored. I got a feeling wow lost a chunk of it's customers from this stunt and now I look at blizzard as another sleazy company like sony that doesn't give a rat's *** about it's subscribers as long as you keep chucking over the dough. Several betas are opening up right now and allot of people are trying them out to keep them entertained. many may just stay with one of those games and forget wow.

I myself am going on to test out whatever I can because right now I would have to swallow a little pride buying any of blizzards products. I hope I find something I can enjoy.

I don't think wow will last long now. It will take them a decade just to gt out the first expansion. People will blow through the content in a few months.

i dont think its Blizzard ignoring its customers. if you have every done anything with blizzard in the past they are always like this. its a sort of trademark. Blizzard is not ignoring its fans i think its that they want to make sure that the game is as perfict as it can be and they dont really know exactly when it will be. i am sure they have an idea but with open beta still to come things could go wrong that postpone it.

If blizzard was to say Nov 22, the game would have to come out then finished or not. people will say that its mroe finished than any other MMO out there and maybe it is but blizzard has high standards and they will want it to be almost perfict. and that may take them longer than planned. they dont want to lock themselves into a date and not be able to put out the product that we know they are capable of.

It's actually pretty funny to say that since no one is giving them a cent and they are SPENDING money in bucket loads to pay for all the costs associated with the beta. While I echo the sentiment of being VERY frustrated, I know they are doing this for the game and the community to give us the best game they can.

SOE on the other hand had EQ2 in beta for a little over 2 months and is sending it into the world already. WoW has been in beta how long? I'm not certain myself, but isn't it over 8 months now? That should tell you how dedicated they are to making a better product. SOE is going to ***** the public again for a buck with the next year people will be paying for the right to beta EQ2 like they did with SWG.

Comparing Blizzard to SOE is in very bad taste indeed. Once again though, I do admit to being frustrated at the wait, especially since they said beta would be soon and tomorrow will be three weeks already(yes, I realize that soon is a relative statement) without a hint at when soon might actually be.

Some people are speculating from the patch info that wow will not have open beta and earlier than nov 10th. That's 2 weeks at least.

I am not pissed about their attention to detail I am pissed and upset by their lack of even a general date. They had to know it would not be live right now so why didn't they say wow open beta comming in november! I would even undertand if they had to push it back later. At least that would have made people relax and not hover over their pc's for 3 weeks.

As I (and many others) said: Until I hear it from Blizzard, it's not Official.

Notice something very important: It was a VIVENDI person, not a Blizzard person, who blew the smoke about Nov. 22. Vivendi should be taking your ire, because Vivendi pulled the stunt. Blizzard hasn't said anything about it, because Blizzard NEVER says anything about it.

You're stressing too much, man. (Look, the fact that you're so upset about this is evidence of your addiction to it. You're not fooling anyone, you're buying the game.) Everything-- release dates, open beta dates, sign-up dates-- is beyond our control. It's not like they have an obligation to keep people from "hover[ing] over their computers for three weeks". That's all you. You allow yourself to feel such anticipation, you allow yourself to be dissappointed when things don't go as you wish despite having no information.

All dates and times of game completion are beyond our control. So don't worry about it. Worry about things that are under your control-- like your emotions, and what you post on forums.

Speaking of which I feal kind of bad for myself, I actually stooped as low as cheating in WC3 for the final mission =(. Too bad the cinimatic wasn't really exciting. Oh well, theres still the last 3 missions of the undead campaign to try.

Im running out of things to do to occupy myself. I swear i will go stir crazy before the OB comes out, but at least when it does, all that phsyco manicale rage can be sated until we wait for the long release date. BUt hey, its one of blizzards many trademarks, and another is making a GOOD or GREAT game. SOE will eventualy die off once the die hard EQ fans say that EQ2 sux.

That news article just tells me what Ive been saying all along: Wait for Blizzard to set a date and then rejoice because even Vivendi doesn't have a clue what Blizzard is doing.

I love how people get so upset over this.

It's a game. It'll be out when the developers (Blizzard) think it's ready to come out.

As for Open Beta, announcing it awhile ago...

Ever stop to think there may be reasons it's been delayed?

There's alot of stuff to get done and put into Open Beta, talents for all the other classes, racial traits, etc..

Blizzard should be commended for testing and debugging those things before putting into Open Beta. More then likely, Beta has been delayed because of bugs associated with some of the content.

Can you imagine how many people would complain if Blizzard released Open Beta with bugged content? Think people are ******** and moaning now.

Of course Blizzard realizes they may lose customers to other games, but it shows that they care more about game quality then they do about making money.

If they just cared about grabbing every penny they could, they'd release a buggy game.

wow just WoW, I'm totally disgusted by this. In a way I'm starting to prefer SOEs gam releasing methods. Uh Oh i smell future flame. *puts on fire blanket* I'm ready!

I'm by no means saying that Blizzard is not going to create a good game and I respect that they are taking as long as they need to create a great game. The thing that burns me up is the Blizzard handled the whole thing.

When will the game be released in the U.S. and Korea?
The game is scheduled for simultaneous release in both the United States and Korea at the end of 2004

This is the only official statment ever said by blizzard. Vivendi has their own agenda, but not until blizzard says anything should you take it to heart.
