Yeah, i think they are shooting for this weekend since Guild wars is also having that open beta event. Lets hope they release open beta! If not, ill just have to play guild wars this weekend =(. I already downloaded the guild wars client, knowing my luck, lol, that'll probably trigger open beta somehow, causing me to download something else lol.

Actually I'm not excited. I'm burned out on the waiting. While I'll be glad when it comes out, more frustrated now than anything. :P

I'm glad I'm not the only one who is actually starting to get pissed that this game hasn't even went open beta yet. While I'm not saying I'm not excited but yea, when it comes out I will no longer be like, "Omfg omfg omfg omfg OMFG IT"S OUT" I'll be more like... "It's about damn time..."

But Um... yea, didn't blizzard say that there would be another patch before open beta came? And on www.worldofwarcraft.com
it just says there's server matienence, when there's a new *patch* it usually says, "Hey everybody the next patch is out!! Look here!" Or "The next patch is coming now!" But I don't know, I could be wrong.

Nah this is prolly just server maintenence to fix the recent sever breakdowns. They would say patch if they were going to be doing anything of the sort. I would say, seeing the info and all that , that open beta will come somewhere between Nov1-9. They said there would be 2 patches between the announcement of sign ups and the actual open beta. 1 patch has already been done so we need another 1 before we can even hope for open beta. They are testing the next patch in internal testing right now so i would give it a few days/weeks. I know im frustrated too, just hoping to get a EQ Beta Key with contest or something lol.

Funny thing about these boards is that people complain about how beta people post stuff like this and then it happens on these boards. Hypocrisy!

If WoW open beta does come out this weekend, I don't know what I'll do! I really want to try out Guild Wars, WoW open beta , and I have to do somethings in FFXI. So much greatness, so little time.

Well, I was looking at the patch preview for the coming patch, and boy is the list getting long! From what I can tell, the next patch is all they'll really need to release Open Beta without shame. I anticipate that they'll start sign-ups shortly after this patch hits, with Open Beta a week or two after that.

Before everyone PANICS and starts demanding stuff, before people start complaining about how they're burned out on waiting... take a deep breath and remember that stress accomplishes nothing. You do yourself no favors obsessing over things beyond our control, and everything about WoW is beyond our control. Any negative emotions you feel are ones you allow yourself to feel, and their only purpose is to make you feel bad about things you cannot influence. So take a breather. Some herbal tea, perhaps. And cool down.

Now, a quick summation of what will be in the next patch:

BEGIN QUOTE
--Hunter Talents and improvements
--Pally Talents and improvements (very cool changes!)
--Some *awesome* changes to the warrior
--Tons of tradeskill polish
--Lots more quests... newbie zone polish, plus additional Horde content in the re-vamped Kalimdor zones (ashenvale, desolace, stonetalon, etc.)
--More flight paths
--More Graveyards
--Onyxia >=]
--The racial traits are currently in internal testing, they aren't some nebulous feature still in concept.
Look right here at my screen *tabs to internal WoW build*... racial traits, for every race. I see 'em. =]
--Worry not, the Felhunter and Infernal are also in this push. :0
--The PvP rewards will also be in this push actually. =]
In addition, the full scoring mechanisms will be in for the honor system, along with some key refinements to how the honor system works.
END QUOTE

Now go re-read my second paragraph... then discuss amongst yourselves.

Honestly? Obsessing over the game helps me cope. That, and my nifty copy of Civ3. ^_^;;

Then again, until the lot of us get into OB, I highly doubt there'll be any posts on subjects other than the release date and how FFXI sucks. That said...

You know you're addicted to WoW if:
-Nov. 8th, 15th, and 22nd are marked on your calendar with giant red circles with Xs through them.
-You find out about every minor update the second it is announced.
-You often travel long distances just to get somewhere where you can get online.
-You already have all of your characters' races, classes, guilds, and professions lined up.
-You sit shivering on the sidewalk with a cardboard sign that says, "WILL WORK FOR OB".
-You've convinced everyone you know to get hyped up about the game.
-Whenever you see children, your mind wanders to the Blizzard forums...
(feel free to add on)

If I had to hazard a guess, open beta will more than likely be schedule to coincide with the release of Everquest 2, plus or minus a week depending on Blizzard's and Vivendi's interpretation. I wouldn't be over-eager before then.
