Ok i have been reading some forums and such and i am just worried about the content of WoW. it sounds like a great game and everything but people keep compairing it to diablo 2. And normaly i would think thats sweet because D2 was one of my favorite games but i am a bit worried about what that means for content. now i know you can hit lvl cap very quick if you try but if you sit back and just have fun with the game questing and such can this game keep you involved for a long time.

I just came off a FFXI spin of about a year and it would be great to have another game i can play that long. will WoW be able to keep me involved for this long or is it mroe of a play for 6-8 months have a blast and be done with game?

All I have to say is Dark Portal to Outlands, Battlefields, Hero Quests, high level instances and dragon raids for the win. Enough end game content for ya? ;)

my expectation is higher..

I expect this game to keep me playing until blizzard release their next MMO, which is a few years from now..

At least i have MGS3 and GTA:SA to slow me down :D

So you say people should stop complaining about how there is no endgame yet, but on the other hand your worried that because of this it wont keep your attention long....riiight.

There is a reason there is no "End-Game" yet. Blizzard is holding stuff back so that current testers have new things to discover once the game goes live. They said as much about a month ago. That's why you haven't seen real raid material, battlegrounds, and more high-end instances/areas and Hero classes.

I don't remember the exact posts, but they were "official", not player speculation.

Theres holding content like raid material and mob encounters, but things like Battlegrounds, hero classes, and racial traits are things that require testing to perfect.

If one side of a battleground gets a seige tank and the other gets a catapult, and one is problematic like it can't move a desired distance, or has a range of 1, or a small rock can stop it from moving, then it needs to be tested before it is released like that.

I'm sure these things are being test internally. The biggest issue in Battlegrounds is PvP class balance and testers have put that to the test already. While your concerns are very reasonable, I'm sure they are being taken into consideration.

Racial traits are almost finished and may not be in the next patch, but they should be in before retail release.

Hero classes are probably the biggest surprise in store for the beta testers. I personally can't wait to know more about them.

All in time. I believe they know what they are doing and can't wait to see it all. Any MMORPG is a work in progress through out its entire life cycle. WoW will be no different. There will always be a need to tweak this or that.

Maybe not on every point, but I agree with Kerik in spirit.

I'd say WoW has currently more zones than eq1 did, and more dungeons. Eq1 had the original planes, though, and we have yet to see what WoW's raid scene will be like. All in all, I don't think WoW has a content problem, although I am sure they will need steady supplements of expansion packs every 6-8 months to keep people really engaged.

I agree with Ahunter here. Personally I look forward to everything WoW will have to offer and can't wait to see the raid scene and what expansions will bring to the game. First though, I'd like to play the game!!

Thanks Azuarc, I believe in Blizzard as they haven't let me down before and don't believe they will now. I'm looking at it as "the glass is half full" while others are looking at it as if "the glass were half empty". Engineers however would just say "the glass is twice as big as it needed to be". While this is a new genre of game for them, from what I've seen already, they are doing great. As you, and many, have said, it will never be "perfect", but it's certainly as ready(after the next patch) as any that have come before it, if it isn't already better.

If my mental counting is accurate, EQ classic had 65 zones. WoW has...42, I think someone said? Granted, a lot of those EQ zones are trivial to include, like 3 for Neriak and Freeport. Most WoW zones are on average much more interesting than EQ zones. There is very little totally wasted space in the form of zones nobody ever visits. So perhaps not technically correct, but the content in WoW is still > EQ had initially.
