I don't think Priests ever had a mana drain over time spell. However, they do have Mana Burn and talents that improve that spell. Warlocks have Drain Mana, perhaps that's what you're thinking of.

Yes, it was bad info. You might also have seen spells called "Desperate Prayer" or "Starshards". These are dummies, also.

Don't be fooled! Fight the power of misinformation!

Mind Rot was taken out LONG ago. Before I was even in Beta, which was back in April or so.

They do still have Mana Burn, a nuke that deals damage equal to half the mana it drains from the target. (So its useless against warriors, but deadly against anyone with spells. Deplete their mana and make them damage for it.)

Ahh, thanky very much.

Reason I asked was Sleep + Mindrot would have been uber, had they remained together. Kinda like the mez/manadrain for enchanters in EQ. Manaburn would have broken the sleep because of the DMG componant, so less uber. Not that it matters since the Priests got *robbed* when sleep was taken out, (which I really really dont understand, GIMME TEH SLEEPS!)

Just one more quick question, for the snare componant on the Mindflay talent, does it only last the same 3 seconds as the DOT? Or is it on a second timer.

Thanks in advance.

I think it would have been funny to leave sleep in. Would have been nice to see every character on the Horde side play as Undead.

Good gosh, Undead are more than 40% of the Horde population as it is! Don't go giving people ideas.

I doubt it would have gone that far. Its difficult to say, considering the other racial abilities being implemented, but I doubt the hoard players are stupid enough on the whole to allow their entire ranks to be beaten by one Alliance only class. Its easy to see why they're mostly Undead now, without other racial traits in the game though.

I'm sure the other racial abilities will balance things out properly, ie: Trolls with small regen, dwarves with dmg resistance, Orcs with attack bonuses, gnomes with innate weakness to any combat/spells would be fair. etc etc.

Same 3 seconds. Actually, the spell is channeled, so it really only lasts up to 3 seconds.

It's still the best damage spell in the priest's ******** despite Blizzard's "adjustments".
