"In the stress test I could not venture to the lands east of Lordaeron as it was protected by a very large and very powerful Infernal, you should have seen the bodies at the zone border."
Ah, yes. Good friend of mine had been swimming around for stranglekelp and found what was, apparently, a Scourge-controlled island. However, it had two large Infernals with the ominous name "Guardians of Blizzard" guarding the area. He swam, apparently, a little too close, so they cast Death Touch upon him. He died instantly.
(Note: he was the only person in the area, so he's communicating all of this in real-time to us via guild-chat.) So after he does his corpse-run, we see the following message:
"Hold on, I'm gonna try something."
Nothing for about fifteen seconds. Suddenly his icon goes dark.
"Well, apparently Death Touch has all the range it needs."
Classic.
One more story. It was Wednesday, with people still thinking that the Stress Test was gonna end on Thursday, so some people were ready to just do crazy stuff. So a few Horde agitators were spamming Barrens General chat, trying to get people organized for a raid into Night Elf territory. North of the Barrens is a forest, named Ashenvale I believe, and there's a fairly significant NE town along the road. That's where they were headed. One problem... all of these gung-ho berserkers were in the upper-teens to very-low-20s range.
I thought this was a bad idea. I told them so. The upshot was, "If you really feel like doing corpse runs in a foreign land, go right on ahead."
They ignored me and went right on ahead.
The NE guards slaughtered them all.
