Blizzard Please Release (Game Cards)Follow

#1 Oct 18 2004 at 3:12 PM Rating: Decent
I'm really worried if they don't release this for the game. I would like to know if anyone knows if this will be out. If not I will be forced to play a game where I can pay with Game cards. I've been scammed by SOE before when using my credit card. They charged me twice on a subscription to EQOA and I was forced to cancel my ******* card. Anyways this is a big wake up call for me because I've forgotten about how I'm not going to play a game where I must use a card. When I canceled my credit card that day it destroyed many things for a while I'm not going to get into how but anyways It would be a LIFESAVER if Blizzard made them. I would kiss them on the feet for it lol.

Considering like 30% of Blizzards fan base is under the age of 15, ill be surprised if they dont have gamecards soon after or on release. If they didnt they would lose alot of customers, every other mmorpg out there has game time cards so if blizzard didnt i would be ashamed for them lol

Game Cards are usually alot less stressful for me personally but credit cards are good in that you dont have to keep buying new ones. I used a CC for ff11 and it worked fine, i used one for SWG and they kept charging me even though i had quit, i had to email them and stuff to get it off lol.

Edit: Found this on WoW FAQ

Will there be multiple methods of payment besides just credit cards?
Yes, we plan to support a range of payment methods. However, we are still working out our business model, so the specifics on which payment methods will be available have not been finalized.

I mean what else is there besides Game Cards and Credit Cards lol, maybe they developed telepathic payment or something but if theres something besides CCs its gotta be GTCs

game cards would be really nice. as much of a hassle as they can be they just make it better for people. i am 19 and could get a credit card but i dont have one and dont want one. if they dont make game cards i will probibly do what i did with FFXI account and just pay my friend to put my account on his credit card. but i really dont want to do that. Game cards would defonately rock and i assume they will do it. Every other MMO dose it and the only reason FFXI didnt was because of paying $1 for pretty much everything you did

I'm not trying to hit a hornet's nest here, but if EQOA charged you twice, why wouldn't you contact customer service to have it corrected? Mistakes do happen and such things are easily tracked. Besides that, as a last resort you contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. Problems that can't be easily solved while using a credit card tend to be very rare.

Game-cards are certainly a good idea though. Even without what had happened, it would make sense.

Obviously.....I did contact customer service. They did nothing but deny the fact that they charged me for 2 6month payments. They said I bought the 12 month plan for the game and I felt like spitting in their faces but I can't do that on the internet. Wait I can /spit. Also it would be nice if i didn't have to be lectured on what to do with my money on the internet. With SOE it's very hard to solve a dispute I know many people in my guild that had problems with customer service in EQPC. The service was terrible and I was put on hold one day for like 30minutes I was spammed by SOE about me not paying them so, I then had to keep on checking my inbox and deleting their messages when I kept on replying about how I already paid what i've played. Of course this problem couldn't be solved because they wanted their extra 60$ so I decided to cancel my card ******* me in the process.
