At the wow community site, it says they are taking the servers down 2 days in a row for at total of fourteen hours time. Im almost posotive they will be puting up the servers for the open beta. Plus it says that all who have not activated their closed beta account are strongly recommended to do so. Maybe im just overexcited, and ahead of myself but to me this is saying: All you guys with keys who havent activated their accounts need to so you guys are automatically in the open beta which is starting this weekend or this week, and so you can possibly use your characters! Maybe im totally just going whack of waiting for open beta and its just a normal server fix. What do you guys think?

The normal servers going down is normal. The take-down of the account creation servers is what has me psyched. It means that those servers are being re-tooled and reassigned for better things.

You heard it here first! I predict, based on what I've seen (which is totally outsider information and a few gut feelings), that Open Beta will begin on Halloween. Think about it. It's two weeks before the "middle of November", with two weeks being the predicted duration of Open Beta. The account creation servers are going down Friday. Even when retooling the servers, Blizzard hasn't kept its servers down for more than a few days max. That would mean the servers will be ready on Monday. Ready, that is, to accept applications and create accounts. One week sign-up period for Open Beta means that Open Beta will start on October 31/November 1. Plus: Blizzard is a gaming company with a sense of humor. They like to have fun. Releasing open beta on halloween is funny.

There's an unbroken chain of circumstantial evidence here. My prediction, once more: Oct 31/Nov 1 for open beta.

Makes sense chah, and that would be cool if they opened it on halloween, and maybe they did something cool, like have spawning halloween masks, or pumpkins or something that you could wear, or eat. A game i used to play called runescape did that on holidays, and the prizes were different each year on each holiday. you could also sell the items to make a good profit siince they never droped the same items for two years in a row. lol, just a thought. Would be cool though!

I think the Open will start sometime next week, at least the application process anyways. This server maintenance is a clear sign that they are preparing for it and once Blizzard is ready for something they dont mess around waiting with their thumbs up you know where.

My guess is next week, the week after at the latest. I am a little surprised because I figured they would put in the paladin and hunter talents before opening. Who knows, maybe they will- they are done conceptually with the hunter talents now.

And now they brought down the web-site servers. My guess is that they'll have some nice juicy stuff when they come back up, including (in all probability) a new patch AND information on open. Or maybe I'm just overstating the case. I still maintain Halloween as the start date, but boy am I starting to feel it!

I really hope it starts next week as well. Sign-ups, Acct. Creation, anything related to WoW open beta..gimme.

why?

1. I already cancelled my Square Enix acct and sold all my gil.

2. I cant find any other game worth playing until i get my grubby little fingers on even a taste of the WoW goodness.

3. I hate FFXI.

4. FFXI sucks.

5. Did i mention i cant stand FFXI? and to break free from that game for good and the mental scars it has left me with will be a good day indeed.

They said yesterday that hunter talents are completed with internal testing, probably putting them in game now.

I am hoping that OB will start this weekend, but more likely to start signups this week and start the actual OB around halloween.

I have cancelled my EQ & DAOC accts, after playing in stress test nothing comes close to WOW :(

I am getting alot of sleep at least!

I totally agree with Jarlo. After playing the in the stress test I havent found anything to come close. The stress test was also the nail in the coffin for FFXI..... just cant bring myself to put any more time into such an inferior game.
