Character Customization.Follow

Is the character creation in this game alot more detailed than in FFXI? in FFXI, you only had a choice in 3 sizes of your character, 8 "faces"(which most still look alike), and 2 hair color per face.

I got tired of seeing the same character model running pass me in lower jeuno all the time; either the blond hair ponytail F hume, the "Tidus" looking M hume, blonde hair mithra, and the "acorn head" tarutaru

Yes, there is plenty customization. Unlike FFXI, WoW won't be limited by the capabilities of the PS2, which allows for many more character models.

Open Beta's right around the corner... might as well sign up and check it out.

Literal physical customization is limited to the following:

Race & gender (16 options)
Face (~8 types)
Hair Style (~8 types)
Hair Color (varies)
Facial Hair % Color (varies, and not always a beard, per se)

However as far as the character model itself, there is only one body. From the neck down, your human female will look just like every other human female, not counting the equipment you have on.

thats the only thing i dont like...i mean you should be anble to make the body how you want it. just limit the extreams.

for instance you cant be skinnny as a dwarf but you can get alot fatter.

WoW Character Customization is very limited. It's terribly made and is already announced that they aren't going to rework it.
The best Character Customization in games was in CoH and SWG.

City of Heroes has the best customization. It's not that far-fetched to say that you will NEVER see two people that look alike.

I actually like the customization of WoW vs CoH/FFXI because:

1) It's more diverse than FFXI (obviously) and you can change skin color (in case no one noted that already). Fat/Skinny never has mattered to me but in case you FFXI players forgot you could change your size in that game but only with regards to height. Still, WoW outshines FFXI by far.

2) While CoH has way more options (and will probably always have more even if Blizz adds more options) I still like WoW over CoH mainly because I wont see the thousands of morons running around that made horrible appearance choices. When I was on CoH I almost always ran into a couple of "females" who were wearing practically nothing or the guys who wore all pink or wore a series of colors that do not go great together like blue/orange/pink (which I've seen). Or the people with a robot head, human arms, wearing medieval platemail, and baggy pants. Think of the stupidest looking "hero" you can think of and odds are someone playing CoH has done it.

No offense, bro.....but your name might also incline people to give you a rate down. Coming from the FFXI forums as well, I know what you mean. Tons of post-***** there.

Oh Dear god!!! You said something that wasnt extremely positive about FFXi on the ffxi boards? Im suprised you even survived that.
#22 Oct 12 2004 at 11:23 PM Rating: Default
All i did, was stated that certain jobs aren't balanced, and i get nuked from 3.0 to 2.0 within 20 minutes. So i just got fed up, and didnt give a...about my karma. And that is how i got to 1.57...

Thinking of a nice name, and will post in this thread when i am ready.

Yeah, the FFXI forums are full of post-*****. Every now and then they travel over here and start a debate about what game is better and how we are all fools for switching. Just ignore the fools.

I think my numbers post has shutup a bunch of the people saying FF has more to do . Seriously you cant fight the numbers :P
#26 Oct 13 2004 at 12:10 PM Rating: Decent
FF has many things to do..but i wont say more..

However, the things are extremely difficult and time consuming..they are either huge timesinks, or moneysinks, which just **** people off, and they wont want to do it anymore..
