Well, you have to keep in mind that some of the people visiting these forums don't have English as their first language. Thankfully, alot of the time they post something at the bottom of the post saying "Forgive my spelling/grammaer, English is my second laguage" or something of that nature.

However, there are plenty of people who just don't care. They see the internet as a place where grammar doesn't matter, even though you're still using the written word to communicate. It sucks, but there's not really anything that can be done about it. I just tend to ignore the posts that take too much effort to read.

Lesson: If you want your ideas to be read and understood by people on the forums, please use grammar and punctuation. :)

and spacing. Paragraphs are your friend.

I don't think it's a grotesque problem here, though. I've seen far worse.

Like Syn said, not everyone here has english as a first language.

Cut the people some slack.

Spellcheck is very important to forums. If there isn't one than people will always flame for that, I know I do sometimes. Also when i start flaming people always like to attack my mistakes from day one on these forums.

And keep in mind that your context sucks ussing unreadable grammar. No one likes talking with idiots, so don't post like one. If people post like they dont know what the english language is than most if not all of their posts will be ignored.

Any post that has wordsl ike thi sis notg oing tob e read.

and posts that run on and on and on without periods or without paragraphs will never get your point sent out.

So if you dont even TRY to type like an intelligent mature human being than we will treat you like a monkey that just learned how to write.

Why would you even post if no ones going to read it?
#11 Oct 11 2004 at 9:33 PM Rating: Default
Did you read my post and understand it? Obviously so, becuase you made a completely fruitless attempt to prove me wrong. I can type well if I want to, however, I don't always feel like it.

No, its the point that you act like an immature kid. Your above post just proved that. Your above post says no where that you CAN post well if you want to, it just says that you are lazy and ignorant.

You should always try and type to a readable extent, because if you dont your just trying to be annoying and/or troll.

Come on bro saying "who cares about how people write" only promotes further illiteracy. I only made this post as a reminder, that how you write/speak reflects how many people will actually freaking listen to you.

Take Kief's posts for example (Yes, I know English is his second language) 75% of the responses he received were mocking him.

No need for the flames Yolanda :P

I see no point to this thread other then to begin a flame war. *thumbs up* Good job!

Oh, by the way, rate down for the above reasons and because of the fact this has nothing to do with WoW. ;P

The threads here and contributes to the forum because many of the posters out there believe that since its the internet they can have as many exclamation marks and question marks at the end of their sentance, babble everything they have to say into one sentance, and not even TRY to spell things right.

Some of these people just don't know any better or think that it matters, but it does in the fact that its unproductive and annoying to have to try and discuss things with these people.

Trying to keep it at least a semi mature community instead of having many threads with OMG LOLzerz and the like.

More of a preventative here. Much rather have someone dispute why they should type coherantly here than have them make other threads and then try and defend their view of the internet because non of their posts are readable.

Its just plain annoying behavior and should be stiffled in someway.

It's obvious that threads such as this one will attract flames and all out insults simply because people will be on the defensive. Seriously, if you want to help people with their grammar, go teach kids or put a reminder in you sig rather then making a thread devoted to this subject. That's all I have to say. ;P

By the way, very mature with the rate down. The least you can do is give an excuse instead of reacting. *shrugs* Guess it is too much to ask for such things.

I'd much rather have a flamewar where someone actually learned something from it instead of being as hardheaded and ignorant as Volando.

Flame wars would just pop up in another thread that has the OP typing 12 page paragraphs and spelling words like bekuz and ooberz lolzers, I'd much rather have a disclaimer flame war than one that pops up every 8-9threads.
