It's still very tentative. We are all hoping for Nov, but not holding our breath.

Don't trust any information you don't get directly from Blizzard. Ever.

IGN gets exclusive information from games so I would trust them in some degree.

I don't trust IGN for anything. Especially after that ridiculous review several months ago praising EQ2 over WoW. I've had a chance to see for myself, and quite honestly I disagree on almost every count that reviewer gave.

wow they actually compare games to other games. I've never read a review like that before.

From that article:

"Keep in mind, however, that the intentions of the publisher and the intentions of the developer do not always necessarily coincide, and Blizzard is one of the few developers who has the luxury of taking its time. But it is nevertheless interesting to note the separate international release dates. We'll have more on the story as it develops."

Basically, the publisher is saying November. Blizzard (the developer) isn't saying anything.

This is nothing new. November 15th has been the tentative release date for months now.

Again, until Blizzard comes out and states the exact date, it's all just speculation.

Gihja, if you consider the article I have in mind from back in June, you'd understand my statement. The reviewer explains his background to show how he is unbiased, states that he has played both games for 30 hours, then implicitly praises Everquest 2 as the second coming by using ridiculously fallacious reasoning.

I just may go crazy if it comes out any later than November!
I've been sooo bored lately when at my house, I try not to be home anymore but sometimes I have to be and there is nothing to do when I don't have a MMORPG to play, so unbelievably I been doing my Homework! =) And working on some other things which would be of no importance to you guys

I would'nt get my hopes up. Its Blizzard and we all know their gonna postpone the release at LEAST one time. Maybe two. But hey, I already ordered my CE of WoW so Im allset :P

For those feeling withdrawal (myself most certainly included!): Blizzard just posted an advisory that Open Beta sign-ups for North America are coming soon. More on this as it develops.

I mention this in large part because it means game completion is closer than I expected. I thought they'd have the European Closed Beta on longer before they started open... yet Open sign-ups are coming soon. Perhaps mid-November is feasible, after all... depending on what happens. But they got a lot of good data during the stress test, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Speculation is, that Blizzard will definitely have Open Beta no later than EQ2's scheduled release date. Key word in that sentence is speculation - don't go repeating that as truth.

With the announcement of applications for the Open Beta, Nov is looking better. ;)

Go gold at end of octobor/Start of November, Open Beta will start at Begining of Novebmer, and game will come out at end of November

My prediction = Good/Bad?

Either way, I'm feeling alot better about WoW, once I seen they announced Open Beta soon, I was like "Omg, this is so cool!"

EQ2's beta will prolly be longer than many think. All other betas that sony has had were for expansions. The EQ2 beta if for a entire game so I feel that it will most likely be a good while before it comes out. From what I read it's still very very buggy and the lag makes it almost unplayable right now so they got a whole lot of work to do.

I probably would go to EQ2 if they didn't have such high requirements, I meet the Minimum (And some recommended) requirements, but I don't like to play games if I'm only mainly at Minimum, WoW on the other hand doens't have as bad of requirements, I have all of "Recommended" or higher for WoW, so I'm hoping for no lag, because when I get that choppy lag like I got on EQ with my old computer (It was a VERy bad computer, which didn't meet minimum requirements in all the ways haha) I'd go crazy =P

Gamesta - the game sucks even on minimum. I have a 2.53 ghz, radeon 9000, 512 mb, and the game runs poorly even on minimum graphic settings. And it looks like vomit at that point.

O.o, Well I loved EQ, but EQ2 never really interested me until recently, but I'll most likely go to WoW over EQ2.
Also I should be getting into EQ2 beta since I bought Lords of EverQuest and had an active EQ account n stuff

While EQ2 SHOULDN'T be out for a while, don't be surprised if they launch it the same time WoW launches, or at least before Christmas. SOE is known for doing stupid things like that for the "almighty dollar".

Buggy or not, they'll ship it. :P

Gamesta, on that basis, you should have been in the EQ2 beta over a month ago. I was an LoE owner also, and that's how I got in.

Azurac - it's funny you mention that article, it's actually what made me SIGN UP here. XD, No joke.

Due to, I was looking through your guys' forums here and noticed "Totally Unbiased Review" thread (I believe it was named), read through it, and, after done reading the article I was so convinced that it was biased to hell, that I emailed "deathstryker@IGNVAULT.com (or whatever)", then signed up here.
