We're getting closer and closer to release. Here's another update for you.

~From the main page, on the most recent update.

Was this just something to get people's hopes up again? Or was it not meant to be taken that dramatically? Beta Testers, does the November 11th or whatever it is release date look attainable now? Just curious... Haven't posted here in a while on matters such as these, and haven't talked to any testers outside the forums, so for all I know, the game could be making HUGE progress, and is definatly being release in November, or it could be making average progress and be released like next year. Please, fill me in on what you the testers think.

As far as I can tell... who knows? Blizzard never gave out an official release date. "Making progress" could mean anything. European Closed Beta JUST began, and you have to figure that'll take at least a month. Past that, it's anyone's guess. Remember: 2 1/3 classes still need talents, PVP is going to be seriously overhauled, and a lot of the high-end content is still NYI.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to respond to that line.

Not long at all.

The release could be in January but everyday still brings us closer and closer.

I wouldn't be getting our hopes up thinking that Alla knows some big secret about the release.

Everyday just brings us closer and closer to the release, whenever that is.

Chances are very good it will be out before christmas.

When WoW first hots release it will be for Korea and US only, so the closed beta for Europe isnt a problem, and since they just mentiopned it might be close to release, its probably a fair guess it will come out within the next 2 months. LETS KEEP OUR FINGERS CROSSED

I don't see the point in making topics about release dates. Why can't you just be patient. Before anyone makes a post they should ask theirself the question first. I mean does the game look like it's near finished, not really. They still don't have talents for 2 classes and 2/3 and they have many other issues that they need to fix including balance.

Hell, I'll just be happy when Open Beta comes out. I finally recieved my new computer and really want to see how WoW looks with everything graphics-related set at max.

Granted, I'm not keen on leveling another character up and having it get whiped, but ah well... it'll be worth it.

But as for what that quote means, with every patch WoW comes closer and closer to being released. Whether it's before Christmas or afterwards, it's still that much closer to being released.

I don't see the point of posts like yours. This post was intended to be a question towards testers to see what they think about when the game might be released, I never asked for any specific date, or anything like that. So you decide to take a few minutes out, to tell me what not to post about? Lol...

Snooze...ZzZz Oh yea what's going on..

You don't? Interesting. See, where I come from, when people have waited a couple of years for a game to ship, the release date is utmost on their minds. Especially if they've seen literally thousands of other people getting random beta seats.

I think it's a little silly to try and deny the basic fact that EVERYONE here (except, apparently, you) is interested in the release date of WoW.

Well, I think part of the probelm might be that it's something that's been discussed over and over and over and over again on these forums. There has been no official word from Blizzard when this is going to be released besides End of 2004... and even that may be pushed back a little.

Of course we're all interested in the release date, but most of us know that information hasn't been made available. Those who don't, who are interested in WoW and haven't heard much about it, etc, I suggest check out either of the two sticky threads at the top of this forum.

While I agree with this point, release is likely two months away. The closer we get the more anticipation will build. I personally can't wait. It's like a kid who knows they will soon be at Disneyland.

"Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?" "Are we there yet?"

Yes, it's annoying, but it's the question on 95% of the people's minds.

As far as the game, I feel certain it will be released before Christmas. I wouldn't be amazed if it actually came out on the tentative date of Nov. 15th that some sites like E.B. list. Yes, it is tentative at best, but yet possible.

As far as talents not being in for 2 classes, so what? There is still plenty of time. Talents are meant as a way to differentiate you character from others of the same class. Talents do not define the class and are minor compared to all the other spells and/or abilities of the classes.

High-end content is still being added. If the game released tomorrow, Blizzard would still have time before any reasonable number of people would be able to get to it. For testing, they already said there would be a live test server.

The PvP rewards system is possibly even linked in part to the Hero class or becoming a Hero. We may see the entire system laid out during beta, and we may only see a part of the system implemented during beta. Either way though, it will the a system that enhances your character, not defines it. I think that because of this it shouldn't take a great deal of time to test out to see if it is fulfilling its purpose.

That's just my take on the subjects, but I can't see myself being terrible off the mark on any of them. As the game stands it is at least 90% finished.

Amen Syntaxic. It seems that there always has to be a explanation for everything.

Argh, Once again guys, In my first post I was NOT asking for any official release date, lol, and yet you all say I am. (This is the third time I've said this. I was just asking for an Opinion from the beta testers on what people thought.
Some people gave me their opinion's and thank you. For the other people,I just made this point, because I don't want to be known as the kid that's saying.

"Are we there yet, are we there yet, are we there yet."

lol

The reason why at least one person has said this thread is pointless is because this or something like it is posted in about 30 other places, and dave is known for starting release date threads...

When is WoW coming out?
When will open beta be?
How do I get into the beta?

We don't know. Nobody knows. There is nothing truthful on the internet or anywhere else. Blizzard is *close* to giving beta players all the content in the game, but they still have a lot to work on, like class balance issues, revising the later zones to be a little more playable, fixing the PvP system to name a few.

heh, woo, 500th post...well, anyway, I guess I should answer the main thrust, so as not to appear a donkey.

Blizzard keeps making wild swinging changes to the game. The patch two weeks ago wildly revamped several core aspects to the game, and every time the players think the game is starting to become consistent, Blizzard does something like this. While I do agree that the game is closer to release, just as "Every day is the first day of the rest of your life," I don't think we'll see any major release until at least 2 months after that patch or any others that drastically affect the game.

The other side of it is that Blizzard is definitely starting to work more on polishing the game. They've been tinkering with maps, finalizing little features of the UI, adding a lot of things players have been waiting for for a while. There aren't too many content issues remaining that need to be resolved.

Will it be out by Nov 11? Definitely not.
Will it be out before the end of the year? Quite possibly.

If they release the game now it will be very buggy. Being able to play beta I don't mind the wait so much :), but there are still many broken quests and lots of classes are not properly banlenced. Strangly enough melee classes are overpowered in this game due to thier equipment and can solo really well. They need to really work on the class balence and improve the casters since this game has a lot of PvP in it with the alliance vs the horde.
#19 Oct 02 2004 at 11:40 AM Rating: Decent
Yep Casters AC should get some a buff. Right Now in PvP Casters can get 2-3 hited by melee. The warrior hasn't changed much ever since charge removed.
