Awwwww, poor SOE is a bit threaten by the presence of WoW, eh? Seems like they're trying to go after what many people may call WoW's biggest weakness, the temporary server lock. Funny how SOE is attacking the temporary server lock issue because it is, after all, temporary.

Poor, poor SOE. Looking for a weak spot and decides to get people to come to their side by attacking a policy that is temporary until everything is running nice and smoothly. Can't say that about SOE's games...

Man reading the wow forums makes me realize that a bunch of the beta people are stupid and are just playing to play. There should be some sort of beta background check so only people who truly test the game get in :P

Everquest 2 has beta testers.
World of Warcraft has beta players.

That's the ONLY thing I think EQ2 really has on WoW though.

Yeah, but what's the point in having testers if you're not going to listen to them. If I recall correctly, a large portion of the SWG testers were very against the game being released when it did. As such, the game was released half-finished, buggy as hell, and completely at the whims of customers.

So, let them have their testers. It won't do any good unless they've actually learned something since they're last MMO experience.

LMAO, SOE better do SOMETHING in response to WoW. Having been in the WoW Stress Test and currently being a beta tester for EQ2, SOE doesn't have a chance. Sure, some people will play, WoW will beat the crap out of EQ2 or EQ. I'm expecting WoW to maintain as many accounts as EQ and EQ2 combined. Well that's just my take, feel free to agree or disagree.

I can't speak for SWG, but the one thing I can say positive about the EQ2 *beta* compared to WoW is that Sony really makes it look like they are trying to listen to the testers. The forums are abuzz with non-destructive posts. The game actually prompts you to send back feedback on quests after you complete them. Sony appears to be very interested in the testers' opinions.

That's the developers though. The marketers probably don't give a sht what the players or developers have to say.

I thought it was going to be either 10 CDs or 2 DVDs. For those of us who were playing games before there were CDs though, 10 discs is actually really not that big a deal. I've had games that used 15 floppies or more, and later versions of Windows used to come on 31 disks.

yeah 10 cd's or 2 dvd's thats a lot of cd's though the closest game i can think of was gabriel knight 2 and it was 6 cd's of course it was all full motion video.

Heh, yeah, about the CD's thing, the closest game I've played was UT2004 - 6 CD'S.

And, on to SoE trying to strike back... lmmfao. They have no chance, it's actually very funny. It's like, I can see the entire crew of SoE going into WoW Beta Forums, and checking the site hourly to see if they are shutting anything down, adding anything, then discussing if they should add it, and when they know that WoW is going to be shut down (temporarily) they go on a rampage of trying to get people by telling them they "WILL NOT" have a server lock-out.

Besides that, I agree with everyone here on pretty much everything they've said about how

SWG was the worst game ever, so many things wrong with it you could fill an encyclopedia, NOTHING worked. I made master BH before mounts even came out, I'm that much a glutton for punishment.
I fell dirty even talking about it..bleh...
I got in on the WoW stress test and knew this was the game for me.
HORDE!!!
