According to that interview, in this thread, you'll be able to have 10 characters.

Only restriction is you can't have alliance and horde on same server.

So my question is: Are you going to use all 10 characters or will you save some for later expansions?

Me, I'm using 5 and that's it. Rest will be for expansions.

And since the professions are limited to 2, are you going to create alts to do all the professions?

And the servers will support 2500-3000 players. That seems a tad low, but it works for me.

First off let me start off by saying that the 10 character limit is a godsent. I remember the FFXI days where you have to pay $1 for a extra character. *shudders* I remember listening to people who said that they got most of their gil through mules (or extra chracter that are made to hold or sell items). I found it sad that you need to spend actual money to make fake money in a video game.

/end rant

Anyways,I'll most likely make 4 top characters (2 Horde characters and 2 Alliance Characters) while the rest of my slots I'll use to play around with for expansions and such.

As for alts, they'll probably be masters of different professions but to support themselves, not my main character.

The 3000 count is good enough for me. It means less camping, jerks and a better chance of being known in your server.

In Everquest you could make 8 characters per server with no limit. And there were like 30 servers. You should've signed up and gone hog wild, Redmoon.

I think I'll stick with a main and one or two alts.

Errr, no thanks. After trying out both SWG and Everquest Online Adventures, it's safe to say that there is no deity in this existence that will convince me to play another SOE MMO game again. I mean, come on, SWG should still be in beta with the amount bugs it has. I've actually seen the ground seperate and combine with the sky. Here I am with my character wondering what the hell was going on till i got aggro from some angry alien guy (sorry, not fluent in Star Wars ;P) and died. Uninstalled the damn game afterwards.

I think 10 is a good number, I'll probably use about 3 for characters and mules and leave the rest open for messing around.

lol 30 servers but in all of those servers i had 2 Characters Elf Ranger60,Dwarf Elf Bard 41. in Rallos Zek. Not like anyone could have a ton of alts.

Man i'm pi**ed off about the one faction per server i understand the reason why, But i share my account with my little brother and We both play on opposite factions but i like to be on the same server as he is. Damn this sucks.

Well, I dunno what you mean by "Saving" them for later, Unless you can't say.. have 7 characters (3 left) and delete one to have 6 characters and still only have 3 left, that wouldn't be cool

"Saving them for later" means just that. You don't use those slots for anything. So you have empty slots for any new races/classes that come out in any expansions.

It doesn't mean not creating any characters with those slots to try out different stuff, it just means there wouldn't be any main characters on those slots. Create a character to play with, then delete it.

I would think it'd be pretty difficult to fill up all ten slots with "main" characters right after release. Basically, with as much time as one needs to put into a character, divided ten ways, it would just not be worth it.

However, I do like the option of having ten characters, especially since there will definitely be other classes and races eventually.
