What will you do against ganking and griefing?

Chris Sigaty:The point based PvP system will help on this. If you gank and grief a lot you will get points subtracted and if you have a negative amount you will get a opposite titles to the ones mentioned above. Players of the other faction will be able to attack you no matter where you are, even in save home zones you will always be marked for PvP. So you are known as a bad guy.

So is the only this here would change is that instead of the opposing faction being unable to attack you in your homeland until you attack, they will be able to immediately?

You can still attack back right and all right?

What he didnt' explain was how the points work.

Do you get points against for being the aggressor? Does the person you killed get to rate you down?

How is that going to work?

I think this applys to the PvP server not the PvE server.....
when have you ever heard of ganking and griefing on the Carebear server.

Still doesn't explain how the points work. How are the points assigned, who assigns them?

God, I hate that word "carebear". That's almost as bad as "pwnage".

I assume you'll get negative points if you kill someone so many lvls below you and positive points if they are within a certain lvl range.

And negative points if you kill someone that was just rezzed or something.

Yeah, can see it working like that.

hmm... doesnt that present a problem tho? during a raid if you have killed all the equal or high lvl players and the lowbies are still attacking u, are u suppose to just run away to avoid losing pts? it'd be interesting to see how it is implemented

unless they decide on a system that will make high lvl ppl absolutely inpenetrable for ppl like 10 or more lvls down. then the choice will totally be in the hands of the high lvl. if someone is unable to land a hit or a spell on u yet u still pk them, that will make u a real bad guy wont it. pts to pk in the lvl range and lose pts to lowbie pks. that way ppl r encouraged to engage opponents their lvl.

I'm with you Gamesta PvP for Life. As for the word Carebear it really is a good name for the PvE server. For the server that is consisted of people that are Rpers, whiners that is a great name for them. I think upon release they should remove pvp from the PvE server. It's such a terrible system and it is just for consensual PvPers which makes it all peaceful and takes away the fact that they are in war. Who wants to play in the Server where you can walk up to your enemy and wave at them, i think this game is about war right? My friend played on that server and he got so annoyed of having to taunt people so they would fight him. Many people in that server don't engage in any kind of PvP. What pisses me and my friend off the most is when there is a city raid and there are some pussys that don't help anyone in their city because they are too blubieish to fight because they are roleplaying. I mean do you like how when a guild is raiding your city and some people refuse to help when most of your guildies are dying and many just carry on with there day. This is not how the PvP server is and thats why i love it pure PVP in it's best form i'm looking forward to the ganking issues going away with this new point system. I am never going to buy another game that is all Bluebie servers. Ever since i played Eq i got tired of it what i did was i payed to take my char to the PvP server to have actual fun. I don't like L337 speak anyways i just like using the word Carebear because if you know the show you would understand why the PvE people are called this.

Hmmm, if I want to play a game that revolves around war, I'll go play a FPS or a stragety game, not a MMO. In the same time, the story of WoW does revolve around war but it shouldn't detour from what the game is, a MMO.

When it comes to removing all elements of PvP from the PvE server because of the fact it's consensual, I simply think its a wrong move. Yes, the game has a war theme. Yes, the pvp element is part of the game as well. Yes, this game is a MMO. *Gasp!* Its a MMO! You know what that means? It means that people are doing various things such as shopping, fighting, exploring, crafting, questing, raiding and yes, even competing against each other. People come to play MMOs for the choice to do what they want, when they want and have fun doing so. Gamers enjoy the option to pvp when they want, quest when they want and raid when they want but gamers do not enjoy being forced to do so. You want to go to a server that forces you to focus on one aspect of the game? Wonderful, PvP is the choice for you but don't try to deny the people the choice to do the same in the PvE server.

As for the term "carebear", its up there with the word "noob" when in comes to words I hate. Besides, being in a pvp doesn't prove a thing. Your chances of getting your *** whopped in a pvp match in the pvp server are the same as in the pve server.

So how would you describe the daoc servers where theres not open pvp but there is a large amount of pvp taking place? I enjoy pvp but i dont like being ganked while lvling so its a hard choice for which server i'm going to get on. I dont consider myself a carebear though.

It's pretty funny how a simple post can affect a person that much that they make another whole thread about PvPers to attack a persons opinion. Don't come and post crap just because your parents where negligent and you thrive for attention because your a jerk off.
You are a joke of existence. BTW your moms calling you little boy, she says don't play WoW until your homework is done.
#14 Sep 16 2004 at 2:21 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, I think it's pretty funny that a post that was obviously not directed as an insult struck a nerve to the point where you post stuff like the crap above.

And your retaliation? Personal insults left and right. Is it easier to do that than to actually try to defend your possition? If anything, you come off as the immature one here, not Redmoon.

Meh, I try not to concern myself with flames. *points to his flame-retardant suit*

Remember, kids, that online is not the place to be to settle differences! The correct place is a parking lot with broken bottles and blunt weapons.

Timmy: Are you sure, Red?

Why its Timmy! Of course I'm sure, Timmy! Here, let me demonstrate! *stabs Timmy in the chest with a broken piece of glass*

Timmy: My chest is crying...*falls dead*

Hahaha, it sure is! *Thumbs up*

I know, I have a very dark sense of humor. Sue me ;P

Hey personal attacks all because of pvp, hey kinda like pvp servers :P
#17 Sep 16 2004 at 3:30 PM Rating: Default
Cool syntax kiss Redmoons *** even more maybe add some lipstick first. Actually if you could read both topics where insults but not with curse words, so i guess it was ok. You for attacking me is immature because you could have avoided the situation but instead you decided to add some flavor. Yes i did use personal insults thats because im obviously talking to a pre-teen whos in the know-it-all stage. It's a good way to make someone go grab a tissue. If i did strike immature to you that's fine i don't feel like explaining to kids why PvP in MMOs are not bad. This is the internet anyways everyones immature so don't play the adult in this situation.

Lol... you call that an attack? Psh... all I did was state the obvious and ask a question.

Holy ******* ****, I must say, I love that little "Timmy" act Red does, it gets me laughing every time. >; X

As for you Gihja, you're a ******, syntaxic and Redmoon are both much more knowledgable than you.

Redmoon is always helpful, and, his post was not even to insult you.

syntaxic is also, always helpful.

Gihja, you are just plain retarded, seriously, first off, your grammar sucks, you don't spell half the words you type correctly, and you think you're all high and mighty. Also, you think that playing an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online ROLE-PLAYING Game) on a PvE server is "carebear"? Wow, and you have insulted syntax, redmoon, and me in the past? Buddy, wake up, smell the fresh **** on your upper lip, you may be an adult, but you sure as hell act like a kid.

On an MMORolePlayingG I believe you are suppose to PLAY a ROLE. Not just go out and smash people with a weapon...

Gihja you either need...

A) A straight jacket and a padded room to get the anger out of you.

B) Anger Management.

C) Exlax.

Carebear has to be the stupidest word in existence.

Why is it that PvPers have such an attitude?

Seoman, don't you see its a cry for help? All the hardcore pvpers (like Gihja) need is love, compassion and antidepressants. Nothing brightens the day like super freaky mental happiness that drugs can provide!
#22 Sep 18 2004 at 1:01 PM Rating: Decent
lol crying for help actually people like Creamed is the one that is doing that he's just some punk *** 14 year old talking crap everytime his mother lets him use the computer. Like i said before when i post and i sound like i'm i am not even breaking a sweat it's just you Redmoon that has to make something up like most kids to so it looks like what they're saying actually holds some truth behind it. Anyways i'm not going to bother anymore with people like creamed who think they know everything.
It's actually a pretty big waste to go on with a topic that's old so i'm just going to say that you guys can have your fun and i have mine. BUT IN SEPERATE SERVERS :).
