After playing WoW I couldn't care less if they kicked me out. I'm suffering WoW withdrawl.

100% agreed. While the servers were out this weekend, I got to try the EQ2 beta a little more. (Note that despite being in the WoW beta for 6 months and the EQ2 for less than 1, I'm still prefering to play WoW.) My opinion of it hasn't really changed much. Same constrictive UI, environment, overall game structure and the same bland classes and abilities, washed-out graphics, and monotony of killing creatures, and...

Well, there are a few nice things I could say about it. But there aren't many. Even going simply from EQ1 to EQ2, I don't feel it's a huge improvement. They added, um...a quest system, "better" graphics, a clean transportation system, and a buff system that prevents PLing. In exchange, the combat is clunkier, the items and inventory structure is more tedious, there are tiers of every spell (of which there are a whole slew that can only be obtained from PC crafting,) and just in general I feel like I'm carrying a bigger boulder on my back as I play.

The only hope for EQ2 really is that it nails the endgame and WoW doesn't. Otherwise, it's only going to be for Sony diehards and people who like to "adventure" and roam more than you actually *do* things. If your Bartle test results were that you were an achiever or killer, don't even think about EQ2. Explorers might like EQ2, and it may have a *slight* edge with socializers. Click here if you don't know what the Bartle test is.

World of Warcraft is THE most user-friendly game I've ever played. I was amazed at how the game went out of its way to teach me certain skills and practices. This was my first MMORPG, and I hit level 30 in 10 days. Wow. (WoW, rather.)

Blizzard has done a heck of a job so far, but quite a few things are incomplete.

1) Not all zones are implemented. Much of the high-level content is not yet implemented. In the same vein, quite a few are going to be updated. The Horde areas are lacking a bunch of quests.
2) The Warlock and Paladin classes are getting major overhauls. Additionally, both those classes (and the Hunter) lack talents.
3) PvP. If you read the article on the WoW beta site, they talk about some major PvP developments and ideas that they're developing. There hasn't even been a glimmer of such things in-game.

I would say the game is about 85% complete. They just added a whole new round of closed Beta testers. If open beta comes out before the middle of October, I will be stupefied.

Everyday, even though i know i wont get into the new phase of beta, i check my email, just incase they felt like adding me. When this game hits release (or even the open bete depending on how long it will be) i will have no life, i will test EVERYTHING i can, but still being my good ol hunter.
Thx

What i dislike s when people Bash SOE when they haven't played there games. I'm not saying anyone here does but i joined alot of groups in Stress Test and they talked a bunch of crap about SWG and when i asked them what they where they tell me i don't remember, and it just shows they're complete asshats. If your going to speak negative about something at least bring a valuable argument i mean cmon.

Hmm SWG, horrible class balance, horrible way to get jedi, no missions worth doing, Battlefields didnt work, The rebal theme park never worked for me, plus having wounds and battle fatigue was kind of redundant :) Thats why i hated it when i played, I do have to say some of this has been fixed but its still not a very good game. The combat revamp would have helped alot but noo they had to put it off to fix jedi and the expansion. Darn SOE :P

ya and also they did'nt really make the classes as they are sposed to be. for instance TKA in starwars were sposed to be people trained to kill jedi and in the game there really week. everyone was going sith or jedi where there should have been 3 main combat classes. tka, sith, jedi. like in star wars

Hey Tka's had their moment in the sun, when everyone and there dog was one. Then they nerfed them, Also bh's were and i think are still the main pvp thing all you had to do was spam eyeshot and you couldnt lose.

WOW arimer you must be seriously mistaken maybe you should go to the Bounty Hunter boards and see how good they are I for one can tell you they sucked. Yea i would love to see how good eyeshot would be if you didn't have TKM. TKM is the best class in the game besides Jedi. We could barely kill Jedis with a Pre Nerfed Scatter Pistol which cost around 2-5mil.

I havent played SWG, but my cuz has, and he says that the skill baseness of the game SUX, and he would rather have had lvls, but SOE didnt listen to the gamers, so it came out and stayed like it was, horrible.

Ewwww, Star Wars Galaxies...*shudders*

I tried out the free 14 day trail for the game and I was so glad I did. It helped me realize that the game was more buggy then a New York City ghetto. It doesn't help that the gameplay just sucks so badly either...

Ghetto is a slang meaning government housing or a rundown neighborhood. The orginal word was used by jewish people to describe their neighborhoods. Funny how we use words and change them to our liking. Kinda like how **** used in a certain way will make it into something good. Example: Yo, that car is the ****!

Since NYC is somewhat famous for its vermin problem (in specific spots like some ghettos, not all), I equated the amount of bugs in a ghetto to the bugs found in Star Wars Galaxies.

...

On a side note, I cannot believe I have to fully explain the word ghetto...

The bounty hunters were overpowered at one point due to eyeshot but it got nerfed, CH was the best class when swg first came out . The thing i never liked about bounty hunters is they think they should be able to instanly kill everyone just because they were a bounty hunter. So from now on remember anytime i say anything about SWG its from before october of last year or from about 10 days in febuary of this year :P

On a side note you should add your a complete asshat. I was confused on how someone would say that a game is more buggy than a Ghetto.

But then I understood.

P.S. New York is a beautiful city.

It's a good game. I can wait, though. Wait, no i can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gimme WoW you blizzard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, not everything about SOE games suck. The manuals make good toilet paper and the games themselves, well, they make decent garbage. Not the best garbage I've ever had, just decent.

Azurac, that was a cool test - the Bartle test! O.O!

I fell into AKS. (3% People are AKS)

Achiever - 80% ( Yes, I admit, I like to be a high level! )
Killer - 53% ( Only when someone ticks me off.. ;) )
Socializer - 33% ( Roleplaying can be fun! )
Explorer - 33% ( This comes into play when I don't know what else to do. :P )

I wonder what everyone else gets?

I could make an educated guess that Gihja gets a "Killer - 100%" due to his overwhelming urge to go onto the PvP servers and kill everyone. :P

I'd say Redmoon is an Socializer - with his little "*Sits by a fireplace with pipe in mouth*" scenarios, then Timmy comes in, I can see him doing that in-game.

That's all I can really think of... anyways, I wonder what everyone else gets, so take the Bartle Test!
