Well no need to worry much about skill points since they will not be in come retail.

No More Skill Points

With the changes to trade skills, skill points (SP) will be removed from the game, and currency will be used instead to train skills formerly based on SP.

Mount trainers will now require you to have a certain level of reputation with their respective city in order to acquire a mount.

Skill points will be removed for the next push. Noone knows if they will be in retail.

No, you cannot trade skillpoints, they are aquired from killing creeps.

True but this is too big a move at this stage of development. IMO skill points are out for good.

It wouldn't surprise me if they return or a system like them returns. Using money to buy skills is not a good idea long term. I can just send 100 gold from my main to an alt and easily buy new weapon skills and such. The skill points required you to actually kill creeps and work for your new skills.

Even if you purchase training of a skill, that only gives you a rating of 1 in that skill. You still need to perform the skill a lot for it on increase, and in tradeskill's case, that means doing menial combines until you can do better stuff. True, you could buy all that in the AH, but it isn't like you can just buy yourself artisan level in two skills like *snap* that.

You can't buy the ability to use a two handed sword in an ah. I think we are talking about two different things. I wasn't refering to tradeskills ^^

Azuarc, you planning on a new character for the next push by any chance?

Mounts cost 100g now. After the patch removing the skill cost, they will be 20g to train and 80g to buy. (This change is gonna save me 20g. ^_^)
