EBGames has WoW coming 11/15/04, I know not to trust that...

anyways...

Who's pre-ordering the game? And if you are, are you getting the standard edition (with novel) or the collector's edition?

I'd pre-order, but Allakazham's Premium Member 10% discount just barely covers shipping, and the novel isn't incentive enough to pre-order it.

But the collector's edition.. that "virtual item" has me intriqued.

Wonder what that could be...

It will be some useless trinket. Just a toy - either something for looks or something that does something silly and not incredibly effective. It would be unfair to the other players to make it be a "real" item of any consequence.

Blizzard has asked players what they would want for that item. A common suggestion Blizzard seemed to be leaning toward was a unique non-combat pet. Others seemed to be equippable items that were purely cosmetic and stuff that created random flashes for no effect. (gnomish fireworks)

I agree, shouldn't be anything that gives an advantage of any kind.

UO gave away a "Shroud of Shadows", a wearable (no-benefits) item.

A non-combat pet would be cool.

The virtual items are always worthless. The only one i see that is in some use is the EQ2 virtual item. I remember SWG had some goggles...Pfft.

Saw a pre-order box for EQ2 at Best Buy. When you pre-order you get an item.

A pair of boots.

Yippee.

Now the non-combat pet would be cool. Based on race and job. And only if unique, meaning this would be the only way to get those types of pets.

That could be cool.

I pre-ordered around 7 months ago.

Yes, I pre-ordered the collector's addition. I was hoping it'd come out with the "June" release date. :-\ Trust Blizz to release it when they say, eh..? :P

Holy Grail is the only M.P. movie I've seen, but how many others were there? I'm gonna have to go with Life of Brian on that one since I can't name any others off the top of my head. (It's early, sue me if I'm not thinking clearly on the matter.)

edit: duh, forgot meaning of life. Like I said, I'm not awake yet.

There was holy grail, life of brian, meaning of life (which my comment came from, also the worst MP movie ever) and a few more movies that were just clips of there shows or single person movies such as and now for something completely different and a few others. Also if you can find them The pc games are very fun to play and have lots of little extras in them.

Yeah, I preordered the Collector's Edition a while ago. I didn't do it so much for the virtual-item, but rather because it has tons of other cool crap (art book, cloth map, etc...). However, I would have loved to have seen a pewter figure come with it like SWG did, though i think that would probably only appeal to a small number of the people playing.

Hey, just found this new information of exactly what the Collector's Edition contains:

· The full game on both CD-ROM and DVD-ROM
· 1-month subscription to World of Warcraft
· The Art of World of Warcraft, 200+ page hardcover art book
· World of Warcraft Behind-the-Scenes DVD
· Exclusive in-game pet
· Official soundtrack
· Cloth map charting the continents of Kalimdor, Azeroth, Khaz Modan, and Lordaeron
· Signed Collector’s Edition game manual
· 10-Day Free Guest Pass – invite one of your friends to join the epic quest

Also, check here for a pic of the C.E. box.

Pretty nice, seeing as you'll also be able to possibly get a friend to play.

I would hope you'd at least get the game on CD/DVD and a free month of subscription!

Isn't the free month a standard thing for a MMORPG now? They all come with free month.

No, you just get the box with the manual. No CD.

Smiley: lol

sad thing, someone is going to think that was serious
