Ha. I knew Jaefo would retort in that way and i knew hed rate me down (ouch)

I did it for a reason though. Jaefo, your thinking its your duty to tell everyone that there are various threads about the topic and theres no need to post a new one. Valid point, and its completely true.

However its the way your telling it to the masses im starting not to like.

While i was ingame all the days i played the stress test. People would ask the same questions over and over, even if i just answered a question to someone like "press L to see the quest log and you will get directions to find the scarlet crusade" moments later someone else will ask.
I could A. be a *** about it.
B ignore it.
or C tell the person the feature they are so blind they cannot see or porb just dont know.

You have one hell of a funny link next to your sig. I clicked on it and had a ball. However some items dont apply for allakazam. A new person to these fourms will not see a "read first" or a "sticky" Like the mayority of other fourms. they get a wierd ! symbol.
Also the search icons for payed subscribers and the vast mayority,(including you) are on the free section.

Probably a person posts somthing thinking it has never been mentioned before, it was but its lost in the fourms.

There are 2 ways to approch this:
1. You can post to the person in a nice matter that a thread like that exsists and offer them a link to the thread with all the info. The pserson gets the message and 99% of the times they will say opps sorry didnt know thanks.
or
2. you can bash them and make em feel dumb and stupid and that your supirior because you know how to read before taking action.

Both have the same meaning. your telling the person your point of view. "there was NO need for this thread, read before you post"
The difference is #1 is the proper and civilized way of saying it and#2 will just make the person feel really bad.

Now dont get me wrong, You are a very informative person and thanks to you i learned alot about wow. I also know it can get on someones nerve when they see tons of threads asking questions you answered so many times. It even happens to me that i might blow some air on somone. but then only if i see that its the same person asking questions, you notify them about a thread that can answer all thier questions but they end up postin somthing else.

Relax and take it easy. Remember sicne you have been very informitive, once the game goes gold, sooner or leter perople will reconize your character and questions will flood in by the tons. you can take it easy or burst into a huge volcano.

Its all about patience and tolerance!!

Actually, #2 may make the person feel superior, but to the people that read it, the person ends up looking like an immature jerk. Smiley: grin

When I first came here, I wanted to find out about the game, see if it was a fun game to play. So I started looking around the forums.

My first reaction was "these are the people that play this game".

I almost turned around and left, thinking to myself "if this is the personality of the WoW player, I want nothing to do with it"

But then I remembered, this is a VERY small percentage of the people playing the game.

Something else to think about. If you're tired of repeat posts, might as well just leave now. IT WILL GET WORSE.

Recent visitors here are around 9 or so at a time. And most of those are repeat. When it gets closer to the release date, more and more people will come on here and they will all be asking the same questions.

Better get used to it.

I really really don't want to know how you know that.

Actually I learned that in another forum when everyone wondered what creature would be if they weren't human. Guess what I picked?

Ditto.

But then again this is an online forum, and he's not the first of his type I've run into.

So I'm just gonna try ignoring him unless he posts something worth reading.

Well, I'm sure other animals enjoy it, after all, if it wasn't pleasurable, or at least rewarding, they wouldn't bother. However, Dolphins and Humans are the only two species which will get it on for the shear pleasure of doing so. Humans are even more odd because we'll get it on and take measures to make sure that the female doesn't get pregnant, which seems very unnatural if you're looking at things from an evolutionary stand point.

Bah... I need to go away.

lol. You won't need me. Seriously, the learning curve is the game is excellent. The only thing I had trouble doing was learning how to swim up or down (died a couple of times before I figured it out), and that's it. Everything is cake to figure out. It's awesome.

You can swim? Nice.

Found out that the characters actually have some speech.

Found out you can jump.

Now you can swim.

Let's see, FFXI you could.. walk, run and taru dance.
#22 Sep 08 2004 at 10:26 PM Rating: Decent
You can dance too... the female humans do the macarana... which is scary :P

But yes, being able to swim is awesome. You can hold your breath for 90 seconds, and once you figure out how do swim up and down, this isn't a problem at all. It's really neat.

Hey Khari, got Althena to agree to check WoW out.
#24 Sep 08 2004 at 10:37 PM Rating: Decent
Sweet... hopefully Alth'll see the light and leave FFXI for good. After all, WoW is teh ub3r roxxor (I wonder if I did that right... not very experienced w/ the dreaded leet-speak).\

I'm not sure what type of games Alth played before FFXI, or whether or not FFXI was the first, but I can see more experienced MMO'ers enjoying WoW. It seems more like what I expect an MMO to be.

But yes, we'll have to collaborate on what server to join. Neltharion on the stress test seemed pretty good, though, I'm not sure whether they plan to keep the name of the stress servers after release.

Told Althena to pass the word around anyone from FFXI that is leaving, I'm setting my journal up as "Seoman's Home for Transient FFXIers". Place to go and organize what WoW server to be on.

Tried to get Kail, no go, but he's a happy camper now cause I gave him my Merman's Gorget (100+ gil item) and splitting my gil between him and some other friends when sell my gear off.
#26 Sep 08 2004 at 10:57 PM Rating: Decent
Perhaps all of us allakhazammers at this time could collaborate and get together on one server.
