There's about one thing keeping me off this game now. I dont know about the rest of you but for me in an MMORPG, looks are very very important, i mean, if you're honestly not playing to make yourself look cool, be it with spells or armor, then what are you playing for? spend 9000 hours bashing monsters is fun? talking is good and all but isnt there Instant messengers for that? I play for the looks. And i've noticed all the characters in this game seem to be disproportional, cartoonish, stereo typical and exaggerated that way, and the expressions on the peoples faces ... seriously, it's disgusting, but there is druids with shapeshifting (has some hope and would like to see pics of them in form) but does anyone else feel this way?

I'm seeing at least 2 graphic styles, look at EQ and DAoC, they both are trying to go towards a realistic view (or graphic). It took SOE 6 years to get where they are today. Now, Blizzard on the other hand is going in another direction. They are using a cartoonish look and not a Hanna Barbara cartoon. This is a different style/direction from which EQ and DAoC and AC and UO all went in. This is a style, historically, that Blizzard has used in all their games.

Graphic tastes are going to be something up to each player, these are going to be personal evaluations; after all, style IS the most important thing :)

I currently play EQ. I'm currently in the WoW Beta. I have to say that what SOE needed 6 years to achieve, Blizzard has already achieved, in their own style. I like it! :)

You play for LOOKS?

Jesus, what the hell has this world come to?

So you're saying that making your character have a good look is more fun than being a hero in the game?

I play because I want to be "Reggad Nosiop" fictional character I made up. He is an Undead Rogue. He has enchanting, herbalism, and poison mastery.

You are going to pay $49.99, plus taxes, and the money to play monthly to make your character look good? Get a life.

If you want to play a game for good looking characters and armor, and a more realistic look... Go to FFXI. The game looks buetiful.. but I hate the gameplay, and the like 2% fun factor you get out of the game. But hey as long as you look good, that's all that matters right? ... Not in my opinion... Hence i'm posting in this WoW forum and dying for the game to come out...

Let's see if I have this right. You play games for aesthetics. You hate the way WoW looks. Sounds like the game's not for you. Bye.

I have no problem with the way WoW looks. To me, it looks like Warcraft. Sure, they probably could have gone a more realistic look, but the designers stayed true to the look of Warcraft, which is why this game has more appeal to me than the overly-plastic looking EQ2.

Some will like, some won't. But then again, it is Warcraft.

You could tell Katen never played a Warcraft game otherwise he/she wouldn't be complaining about Warcraft's art style.

One thing that really gets to me is the current generation of gamers that seem to rely more on graphics then gameplay. I love good graphics like anyone else and I too will question and game with graphics with **** poor graphics but in no way will I dismiss the game if the gameplay is excellent. *sigh* I guess I'm a NES gamer of the past...

Wow, man, I may be only 14, but, I have an NES also, and an X-Box, people always ask me about the graphics, and if they're not good such as an old game I used to play for around a year or two link=http://www.tibia.com]Tibia[/link, then they don't like it, I know it's lame.

People these days >; \.

Does it look realistic? No. Does it look great? Yes. I for one would be po'd if the graphical history of Warcraft suddenly changed to be just like other MMORG's out there. This is a game. This is fantasy. It doesn't have to look realistic, it just has to look good. And besides, yes, gameplay is the most important thing.

Nahhh, me and Guardian thought of it, but, Yolonda, and Guardian, when you get AIM, message me -- ac3d0u7, we can talk about it there.

i already have AIM...but i did want to be in an undead rouge guild where we are sneaky and stuff !

i agree, i wouldnt play a game just for looks, but i do admit, red armor or some cool looking sword (most good swords do look cool) would be neat. So yeah i have a feeling at beginning looks may not be there cause of leather and cloth stuff, but at higher levels when u start getting rare equip and weapons that it will look neater (equipwise) am i right?

hey guys, i dont post much but I have been reading these forumns for months now. I am so jealous you get to play WOW. I am quiting FFXI this weekend after a year of play. I am just burned out. The game has many problems. Anyway, tell me what server you are going to play on when it comes out. i would love to hang out with you guys and bash some mobs. Although i am not sure If i will be undead, but i am thinking definitely the Horde is my choice.

Claw, you may want to post in the "Undead Guild Online" thread, and yes, you joining us may be cool, my AIM name is ac3d0u7 and my Yahoo name is Hoodwinked9, I hope to see you in WoW!

I don't really go for looks of a game myself either unless they are just to horrible to bare. WoW is suppose to have cartoonish looking characters and such. If you play any Warcraft games, Frozen Throne, 3, Tides of Darkness, you'll realize all of the Warcraft games look like that.

They are pretty much just keeping the same style they always have which I find is awsome. I wouldn't want to see a realistic looking Warcraft. Plus the realisticness of EQ2 kinda scares me...it's TOO real if you ask me.
