azuarc, it doesnt mean despiration, it could just be that the guild is new, starting out, and wishes to get thier name out.
I did something similar for my guild while in Undercity and a couple other various towns where i would make a comment in the general chat saying that my guild is looking for new members, and if people are level 15 and up or have any questions on the guild to go ahead and send me a tell.
i got really lucky and found about 20 people that are not only good players, but good people. none of the random people that i picked up have caused any trouble. i will not be doing any more of my general announcements for new members. im attempting to help selected members in the guild master some trade skills, i got my tailoring up, were working on getting the blacksmith to at least skill 250, and as many recipies as possible. then were gunna move to the leatherworker, and then the rest. this promotes guild interactivity, teamwork, and trust.
we are still getting members, but, only people that we invite are people that are met in groups, or those few souls out there that actually help out random people with no want for a kick back.
--- going back on the subject, it would be a good idea for you to put some info about the guild in your posts.
PvP or PvE server?
if you are pvp are there any alliance races that you are going to hunt? (a friend of mine is making a guild for the sole purpose of killing dwarfs, if another race gets in the way, they will attack, but, thier primary target is dwarf).
Are you looking for certain trade skillers? blacksmiths, enchanters, leatherworkers and the rest?
You do have a website, and that helps, but, for those of us that want the info in front of us now, we should have that info here.
granted most of us come to these sites to kill time at work/school/server crash and other various reasons... being a guild leader you should make it so that people are interested in your first few sentances, you lose that interest, and that is one less person who will join.
Edit: a few spelling errors, and a couple minor adjustments.
