how in depth is the customization to make your character not like everyone else? or is it pretty basic as far as options go?
a weapon is only as good as the creature holding it.

This question can't be accurately answered until the talent system is put into place. As it is right now, the only thing that sets you apart right now is equipment and appearance.

If you're just concerned with customizing your character's looks, all creatures of the same gender and race use the same base model, and you can change their face, skin color, hair color and style, and sometimes another factor like beards, facial markings, etc. I don't think I've ever met anyone that looks *exactly* like me in that regard, although it's hard to say when much of that gets covered up by equipment, which often can look a lot like what everyone else has.
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.

Visualy there is not very much, about on par with EQ I think. Play wise it is going to be all up to the talent system. Thus far they have only added it to the Warriors and Mages but I understand you will be forced to be picky about what you want so it looks good. Let's just hope there isn't one or two must have high level talents and the rest are meh.

Yeah, character customization (both physically and skill-wise) has always been, to me at least, a very important part of MMOs. It's one of the few things I loved about SWG and one of many things I dispise about FFXI.

I dunno, there's something about walking through a town and seeing over 10 other characters who look exactly like yours. However, with SWG, that was rarely a problem (assuming you weren't wearing the same helmet as everyone else).

Ah well, I guess I can't be too picky :P
Anyway, back to watching Garden State trailers...

I plan to make a page that shows the options for character customizations.
