Blizzard Please Read This. *Release Should Be In August*Follow

I've heard alot of talk about this game not comeing out until next year, and that is just proposterous. Some people have been waiting 2 years for this game to come out. (Me being one of those people.) The wait has been long enough, and even if it isn't 100% finished and perfect, it should come out in August in my opinion. Now, i'm not in beta, so I do not have any idea on how much of the game is completed yet. But if it's over 75% I don't see any reason not to realease it in August and make thousands and thousands of people very very happy. I can understand a setback to december, because of christmas sales, and wanting to get the game a bit more finished. But if the game isn't out by August 3rd (EB Games release date.) I will most likely buy another game to pass the time, and probably get deeply involved in that (Because it will be an MMO cus i'm an MMO addict) and then I might not even play WoW if it comes out in december. And i know for fact there are many many people like me. And that's alot of potential players, actually considering not playing WoW. Now about the people who are saying it won't come out until next year, if that happens, i will not play the game. I don't care how great it sounds, i will be playing something else by then (Not FFXI like i'm playing now) that will keep me occupied. Well my point is, it's basically a win win situation if you release the game in August for you. (Blizzard)
It's not like people will not buy the game because they think it's not 100% finished, and even if it isn't , they'll still play it, cus i'm sure it's a great game right now. And once people start playing this game, they will not stop. Especially when your constantly patching it, because it's not 100% completed, which means it's only getting better. Plus, I think your forgetting, half the people that are going to buy this game, aren't because they've done alot of research, and it looks better and appeals to them more gameplay-wise than all the other MMO's, it's because it's made by blizzard, and it's warcraft that your going to get the buyers. And once the game comes out, no matter what state it's in (as long as it's not outragously terrible) People will love it. And yes, you might loose some people that are only looking for the ultimate MMORPG and will buy it on it's early released, and then leave due to bugs, and such, but i beileve you'll loose even more if you set the release date back any longer.

from what I've read, some classes are either not in the game yet, or extremely buggy still. levels are probably still capped relatively low. they are still working out lots of stuff.
wouldn't it be wrong to release the game and change some basic stuff in it after ?

as long as the game is still in external, but closed beta, they have the right to make some goofy mistakes without too much consequences. not everyone is as tolerant as you seem to be about that kind of things.
Blizzard has the reputation it has partly because they will *not* publish a flawed product. I trust they would like to keep it that way.

(aren't the main competitors to WoW either already released, or just not going to be released before WoW is ? (taking into account that EQ2's beta is scheduled to start next month, I doubt it will go gold any time soon either, don't have much info about the rest) )

Yes, the wait might be agonizing, but until you have other reasons to request an earlier release than "but I wannaaa !!!!", I don't see the point ...
Besides, I'm pretty sure blizzard has already been drowned by comments like yours before and we've all seen the results (or lack, thereof).

I got into the latest beta phase, and although i've only had the pleasure of leveling a character to level 7, let me say first off that this game, in no way, shape, or form, is ready for release. Let me run down the problems i've encountered in my short level 7 lifetime.

1) Massive lag-spikes occasionally (I play FFXI all the time, not a problem there, it's WoW)

2) Server Instability (In 7 levels the servers have died about 5 times)

3) Inproper monster pathing occasionally (when the mob is low on health, it runs, but occasionally i've seen it run in circles instead of away.)

4) Hunter is not an implemented class yet

5) There are numerous zones that still need to be completed.

6) The game has locked up 3 times so far for me with my current, usually very stable, hardware.

7) Zepplins are not implemented, when you "ride" one, all it does right now is zone you to the destination.

I'm sure as I begin to level up i'll notice alot more, this is merely what i've come to see in the 3-5 hours i've played so far. I'd say 6 months is a fair estimate to squash 95% of the bugs, implement the new zones, class, and get the little nuances running smoothly.

An august release would be disastrous, it would probably equate to the Anarchy Online fiasco.

I would not support Blizzard adopting a rush-out-the-door policy. If I wanted that, I would go back to playing Everquest.

8) Still working on trade skills, some of them have rank 4 strength, others are still on 3.

9) Warlock is still missing a lot of pets (felhound and others possibly)

10) Certain open zones have a really flawed map that is pointless to even try to find out where you are on it (open the map in the town thats about a 5 min walk to the ocean to the west and you will see that the map shows you out to sea).

11) UC, aka, Undercity, AKA UberCrash. there are a lot of people that i talk to that cant walk in this city for more then 5 min without a crash.

12) Some quests are still flawed, or not implemented yet.

13) dare i continue?

But look at all the things that are being implemented into the game every day now! Look at how fast their progressing! My only question is why the hell not? If you get in the basics, and the real foundation of the game, why not release it in august? I can certainly tell you why. "I wont repeat myself it's in my original post." I'm not saying if the game stays how it is right now this day, they should release it in August, but with the way their progressing now, if they get in the important assets of the game, I definatly think they should.
