Why am I getting this now? I use to get an error about "Ran Out Of Memory" but I added more RAM to my PC and that went away.. Now that I'm back to playing more often, I've been getting this message... What do I need to add or upgrade to my PC now? This error boots me from game as soon as I click "OK" and if I don't accept and I just ignore it, I am stuck in the zone. Once I zone, I'm booted.

From what I understand, it's something wrong with the game client. A lot of times I zone and get stuck "waiting for zone server" and when I force-close the EQ2 process, it's consuming a disgusting amount of memory. That's with Win XP. Watching a similar thing happen to my husband, who has Win 7, it does the "insufficient memory" or whatever error instead of just getting stuck. My guild leader gets the same error (also on Win 7) every time she goes into our guild hall.

So no, you don't have to upgrade. Just /bug report that they have a memory leak. Really wish it'd get fixed.. it's very annoying.

This new error that I posted (click link) isn't about memory anymore, though. This one is about framework? I don't understand it but I am not very good with PC's. I'm using Windows XP

Actually it looks like a DX9 error... are you running DX9c? Have you checked the SOE support forums also? Possible that someone else there has had the same issue.

What is DX9?

Google: DX9
Direct X 9..

How do I know if I am running it? All I know is that once my PC is up and running, all I do is click the EQ2 launcher.

If you're running Windows 7, you may need to install DX9. I *think* Windows XP was the last version of windows that used DX9, but since EQ2 is older it still uses DX9 also. I know that I had to install this on my machine (I have Win 7).

Oh, and no need to check to see if you have it. Just run the installer and DX9 will install if you need it and if you don't need it, nothing will happen.

I'm using Windows XP. I haven't had the error last night.. Surprisingly. I hope that it continues not to come back.. I may just re install the entire game, though, if it does show itself again.

If you're taking a DX9 error, reinstalling the game probably won't help.

Does anyone have the # to EQ2 support? I can't find it. I don't ever sign up to new sites and I have no intention to making another name for another forum (SOE) either. I can't stand having to register all the time for websites. If I didn't do this one a long time ago, I wouldn't be here either.

Too bad they don't let you just log in with your game account.

Thanks!
