Lost my kelethin courser whistle apparently?Follow

#1 Apr 19 2012 at 10:02 AM Rating: Excellent
Hello,

I'm still pretty new to EQ2. I've been trying to get a mount, and some lvls ago I apparently did the quest that got me the kelethin courser whistle - and I have no idea what I did with it! I might have sold it, destroyed it, I don't know - as I said, I'm still basically new, I'm a lvl 28 Wizard. How do I get it back? I tried to buy another one in timorous deep, but the I couldn't because it said I already had one, being paranoid I checked my inventory very carefully, and my house vault and I definitely don't have it anymore. Is it possible for me to get it back?

I do believe that it has probably gone to the "Mount" tab under your character window. I would try there and look and see. If you can't find it there, I would try to get a hold of a GM and see if perhaps they can help you out.

To dismount I just click the "Summon Mount" button again and it always takes me off.

Next question: I am a the brokers and want to buy a new weapon. I click on buy and am told I need to use broker credits. What are those/ where do you get them? I already have silver, etc in my character profile. Have you seen this?

I am pretty sure that the broker tokens can be bought in the Station Cash store. I think Silver and Bronze need to purchase these to buy stuff from the broker (I think you can put stuff up, to a certain number, I think 10, not really sure as I have Gold status). I am pretty sure that is how it works for buying stuff with anything lower than Gold status.

It seems then that the "coins" I earn from quests can not be used for anything. I need to spend real money to get station cash I guess. Thanks for your help.

This is because you're playing with Silver (free) membership. You can also spend real money on a Gold Membership and all that in-game money works for you.

Is there a guide written to help bronze and silver understand the finer points of the restrictions placed on them? The coins they earn in game are useful and can be used to purchase things without having to use the broker unlock items. It is just extremely more difficult but still doable. Direct sales from other players instead of going through the broker works , just isn't nearly as nice as being able to use the broker.

I play on a silver account, and ive gotten a pretty good feel for what is and isnt allowed. The deal with the broker is pretty easy. Bronze accounts(absolutely free) need to use broker tokens(purchased from the marketplace 10 tokens for 50 station cash) to buy or sell from the broker. Silver accounts(one time 500 station cash upgrade) can buy from the broker, but cant sell unless they get the tokens. Gold accounts dont worry about any of this. Bronze accounts can only upgrade their spells to tier 3(adept), while silver gets tier 4(expert), and gold gets tier 5(master) - they sell spell unlockers to let you go beyond your current limit(marketplace 5 unlockers for 150 station cash). Bronze can only wear treasured or handcrafted gear, silver get mastercrafted, gold get legendary and fabled(marketplace 5 item unlockers for 150 station cash lets anyone wear gear appropriate for their class and level). The money limit is the most annoying one. Bronze accounts can only have 5gold per character level. Silver get up to 20 gold per level. Gold accounts have no money limit. Bronze and silver accounts have fixed AA sliders, gold accounts have adjustability. Bronze and silver accounts are limited to 4 races and 8 classes(class unlockers are sold individually, races come in sets of 3 - these unlockers are 750 station cash), gold accounts can make whatever. If memmory serves, bronze gets 2 character slots, silver is 4, and gold is 7(more can be purchased by anyone on the marketplace, 1 slot 1000 station cash). Silver gets you a couple extra bag slots and bankslots over bronze(i dont remember the exact number here), gold gets you a LOT more(2 bags, something like 2 dozen extra bank slots) - again, theres an unlocker for this on the marketplace(sold individually, forget the price). I also remember the upgrade from bronze to silver unlocking all the chat channels(bronze only get like 4 or 5 of them), which is a big help. Its hard to ask for help when you arent allowed to talk in most of the chat channels.

There actually is a matrix on the official website that explains all this. Id link to it, but their site is down along with the rest of the game for maintanence. Maybe look for a "free to play" matrix when you can go check that out again?

We actually have the matrix put on our site as well, along with some other additions to clarify/embellish on restrictions: http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/Membership_Matrix_%28EQ2%29

My daughter has a Silver account so it's been interesting getting a feel for the limitations.

At some point one of you needs to update the guide you linked. We can get to level 92 now instead of 90 afterall.

Good point, we were 8 whole days behind. Anywho, it now says, "Can play through level 90 in Adventuring and Tradeskilling. Level 92 is available to owners of Destiny of Velious who have at least 280 AAs."

Did you know anyone can edit ZAM guides with their FREE ZAM login? :)

Good catch, thanks.

I meant no offense. I went to look at your guide(mostly to see what i missed in my summary) and noticed the info still said level 90 is all. The official site said the same thing at that point(havent looked at it since).

Also, no i didnt know that just anyone could edit things. Though apparently i do know it now.

It's all good! Smiley: cool Updating that guide honestly didn't cross our minds with everything else going on the past week. And yes, anyone can edit as long as you're logged in! Smiley: grin

weird question - but I have a good little platinum collection at the moment, which I would be horrified to lose... if I let my membership lapse from gold, will all the money I already have disappear? If so, that is a terrifying thought.

I mean, thankfully I've bought 3 months of a sub already, but the idea of losing my hard earned cash really worries me.

Oh my question is answered:

Quote:
Character Coin Limits: The amount of coin you have is unaltered when you lapse your Gold membership. However, you'll be unable to gain any more coin until you reduce your current coin total below the Silver or Free per character limit.

My other quest is I bought my 3 month sub token while I was on my 30 day free sub - will that 3 months be added on to the free trial time I already had? I am curious...

sweet! That is great news. That means my sub is good for a long while. Is there somewhere I can look to see when it expires?
