Part and parcel of our fees should certainly be used for security. We pay to play or at least I pay to play. I am fine and can keep plenty busy without playing a game but I would have loved to have logged in and at least taken advantage of research.

I wish SOE well and look forward to playing again. Hopefully soon. It will be nice for SOE to know how they were attacked and that knowledge should help them to create a more secure environment. Other companies with similar products would be wide to take note.

It will be nice to have some compensation. How hard would it be (?) to provide a few options as there are many people that might not care for ingame items. I doubt that would be as costly as an extra month plus the time they are down. I know you can't please everybody but an option or 2 is not a bad idea

I'm not looking for monitary compensation. The game is struggeling enough already and I'm just hoping this does not bring an end to EQ2.

I am aggrovated that I just came back to the game, paid for two copies of the latest expansion, one collectors edition upgrade, and a bunch of Sony cash so I could get horses for my new characters, and 2 x 1 year subscriptions. I cannot go out and spend that same amount of money again on another game and I cannot use what I paid for. I could have taken a small vacation for that amount of money, and I was looking forward to escaping into EQ2 for a while.

I ordered Rift and a Rift card and will be trying that. If I like it then it is going to take something special to bring me back to EQ. A lot of people will feel that way and Sony is going to have to do something to bring back the players. Either that or we will end up with another big server merge.

Hey Zam folks,

Could you see if SOE is giving out Identity Protection like PSN is? If not could you find out why? I find it insane that PSN is advertising the free year of identity protection to help heal this mistake when SOE got hacked at the same time frame for the same information and there's no word on if we are getting that same compensation.

I haven't seen anything yet aside from their press release stating that you can contact any of the major credit bureaus to put a fraud alert on your account. Near the bottom of this link here: https://www.soe.com/securityupdate/

And the most likeliest of results will only be harsher security and more restrictions. So, it's not just interesting, it's fairly ironic.

The EU is already debating creating a catch-all firewall that will simply block all sites that are deemed inappropriate (Chinese style), things like this do not help.

Personally, I don't expect a thing from SOE, apart from compensation for the very long downtime, which they are offering already. I just hope this will not be the end for a lot of their games, not just EQII. All I'm hoping for is a speedy recovery and minimal trouble for all the players.

I just can't wait to get back to playing. I tried WoW in the downtime and I am definitely an Everquest 2 girl.

I tried WOW as well and didnt like it at all. I also tried rift and its pretty good game even tho it is not quite as good as EQ2.

I'm trying Rift on the free trial, and it seems like WoW with better graphics. The universal cooldown is what kills it for me. Not being able to set abilitis/skills so they fire in order is annoying. The art is really nice, but there's so little info on what you're actually doing that it's hard to stay interested beyond the novelty. It would be better if the information windows that provide what one really needs to know were accessible, instead of popping up in the middle of combat when you don't have time to read them if you want to live.

If you couldn't tell by the change of topic, all games are back up.

You *MUST* change your password before you'll be able to login to the launchers. You can do this at: https://auth.station.sony.com/login

I am having a slight issue. Every time I log into the EQII launcher, I am told I am an underage player.
Interesting, as I am now 41... Where do I update this information? I am unable to locate it within my station account?

I tried the launcher several times, it finally let me through.
