Solo or Group based :: World of Warcraft

EQ1 was the first MMO I played when i was younger, then I moved to EQOA for ps2.. That game has died after about 6years and I was looking into EQ2. I tried WoW , and I threw it in a separate trash bag from my garbage can and put it in the dumpster. In WoW you solo about 90% of the game , and only need any kind of group for end game content. I was wondering if EQ2 was like that or does it follow the old Everquest originality of group based content from low levels until end game.

If so around what levels do you start grouping and how do the groups usually go. When I say group based im speaking FFXI (that games great) I just cant take the graphics lol...

You can group just about any time, but I'd say real group starts in your late teens. The way EQ2 is set up, each 10-level span of content (we call them Tiers) has solo overland content and dungeons (group/heroic) and raids. There are guild raids as you level up your guild and it's my understanding that serious raiding starts happening in your 50's.

So basically its like WoW.. you solo until you need a group to do better things like dungeons. Whats the average wait time for a dungeon group on a Melee?

I'm not sure it's possible to give you an answer. It depends on your server, your level, what time you're playing, where the phase of the moon is, and whether you have shoes that tie or shoes that velcro.

Oh, might be a good place to mention there's no automagical group-making thingie like y'all have in WoW.
