To further what Cal said, BG gear works very well in PVE. The only stat that won't be used is "toughness" which as far as I know only works in BG or other PvP situations (servers, duels). The rest of the stats will work as intended.
I was wearing a few pieces (robe, shoulder) for quite awhile until I got some T9 pieces from various zones.

I was just wondering, because I noticed none of the pieces had Crit Mit.
