Bind key to command/macro?Follow

#1 Apr 03 2010 at 8:06 PM Rating: Decent
Hey, sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but this is a question about EQ2 that I assume the folks around here would know best. Is it possible to bind a key to either a slash command or macro? Currently I have one of my mouse buttons bound to bar 9 button 1, but would really prefer binding the key directly to the /pet attack command... Thanks ;)

From what I gather, you want to bind your pet attack to one button?

On your pet bar, click and hold the pet attack button (two crossing swords), and drag it into your hot button area. From there you can place it wherever you want. I have mine as button 1 since that's always the first action I wish to take (whether its my tank or scout, or even the mage pet).

After that, you can right click the button and choose "make macro"..this will allow you to add other spells or abilities to that single button, so they all cast with one click.

Example: /pet attack, /pet taunt (AA ability for Necro tank pets, I assume Conj's get it also), as well as a proc spell that lets my pet lifetap for a short duration. So I simply target my mob, hit #1 and all 3 of those abilities fire off. Then I am free to cast my other spells as I see fit. If I change targets then I just hit #1 again, or if I need to recast his Taunt or Life Tap.

There are also many hotkeys you can change by going to your in-game options, and look for the key-mapping section (I'm not on my EQ2 computer so I can't find the specific area at this time).

I can understand the confusion, as that is what I am currently doing as a makeshift solution (I have my Mouse Button 4 bound to Hotbar 9 #1) but I'd rather bind the key to the command/macro rather than the hotbar...

Though, I guess this way is probably the only way to do that after all... :( Thanks for responding :)
