We've asked for a copy button like Those Other Guys have on their waypoints for a while. Things finally chilled to the point where our devs were able to do it, and it's enabled! Not even right-click-and-copy, just click!

http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/eq2_quest:Justice_for_Jojo

To put this in a record, use the LOC template: template:eq2 loc. It'll look like this: {{eq2 loc|123, 45, 678}}. The rest is automagical.

OMG Wicked!!! I will get a lot of use out of this.

ETA: Did some testing...and not sure if it is this way with the default ui or not (since I dont use it), but doesn't seem to work from the in game browser. Could just be custom ui's though.

Ack. Not much I can do about that. The in-game browser is some custom adaption. This works with Fire Fox, Chrome, and IE for sure...

I have our devs looking at it. I notice that a lot of javascript things don't work in the in-game browser, not sure why. But they're gonna try a couple things next week.

If they do that's cool, if not it's no big deal. I always have my FF open while in game anyway, but that's the only use I have for the in game browser is to keep the zam quest guide open.

That's really cool. And yeah, if they're able to get it working with the in game browser that would be really sweet.

I'm just tickled by the number of people editing the records to get the button in there. The loc template might not be there because a) up to now it was just formatting, b) we ran through the new SF content darn fast to get guides in, and c) there's some old guides we've just never needed to go back to that predate the wiki.

Here's some tricks you can make the loc template do:

* Add a link to EQ2 Maps: |uid= It looks like this: {{Eq2 loc|123, 45, 678|uid=123}} and puts a little map button on it after the copy button. If you don't like the little map button, put |verbose=y in and it makes a text link to Maps.

* Add parentheses around the loc: |paren=y It looks like this: {{eq2 loc|123, 45, 687|paren=y}}.

* Skip the middle coordinate: You'll find this in old guides a lot. We'd prefer that you add the missing coordinate if you have it, but just leave it out and the wiki will slap a 0 in the middle.

Another thing: The loc uses comma separation, so if you use a comma or dot in the numeral it messes it up. So use 1234 instead of 1,234 or 1.234. If you see an loc hopelessly screwed up, hit edit and look, often someone's left a comma where it shouldn't be.

Thanks, y'all are great!!

Nothing? The link where it says "copy" should change to "copied" when clicked on. After that its already in your clipboard. Then go to your chatbox in game and hit Ctrl-V and it should paste the full '/way x,x,x' . I also use FF and haven't had any issues.

I love this...I keep forgetting there's an ingame browser though. FireFox works fine.

I also keep forgetting what the /waypoint command is...and also forget that this copy feature includes it!

(hint: the game doesn't recognize /waypoint /waypoint)

I actually had to make a /waypoint macro, so I can hit it and paste in the numbers. I always type in /waypoint and hit enter, which.... doesn't work.
