I am gratified by the number of players helping us flesh out our Sentinel's Fate wiki information! Thank you all!

We have three new templates we're using to help out until the database info imports:

*Template:EQ2 Quest - header wiht basic info for all quest pages
*Template:EQ2 Item - header with basic info for all item pages
*Template:EQ2 Mob - header with basic info for all mob pages

*all about the new Copy button on waypoints: http://eq2.zam.com/forum.html?forum=19&mid=1267228492129877835&num=6&page=1

There's a LOT of templates we use. Find them all here: EQ2 Template Users Guide

Bear in mind that ZAM wiki is not precisely the same as Media Wiki, and you may run into differences like our use of namespaces (that's the "EQ Something:" bit before the article name). If you get hung up, don't panic! We patrol all edits very regularly and will be happy so clean it up for you. Or join us in ZAM IRC #EQ2 and Cyliena, Kain, Raven or myself will be happy to help.

Next lesson: What is that eq2 mob: or eq2 quest: or whatever you put in front of all the wiki pages??

That's called a namespace, and what it does is allow the database to find the wiki entries and hook up with them, where available. It's pretty simple:

* mobs of every variety get eq2 mob:, like this EQ2 mob:a gnoll
* zones get eq2 zone: like this EQ2 zone:Antonica
* items (loosely defined as anything you could potentially pick up if this were Real Life) get eq2 item: like this EQ2 Item:Stein of Moggok
* objects (more about those below) get eq2 object: like this: EQ2 Object:The Claymore

Objects are a little hard to define. They're not mobs or zones or items. You can't put them in your pocket. Points of Interest are objects; so are harvesting nodes. Those tufts of grass you get collection pages from are objects, and so are discovery locations. We don't usually bother if it's just an object for one quest.

Right-o. The rule of thumb I have been using is, if you can see a mouseover change or a name appear on the object when you mouseover it when you DON'T have the quest, it needs to go on it's own page, so someone could come here and find out what quest that "a moss-covered stone" is for, or what it does. If it only reacts when (or is not visible unless) you have the quest, just add it to the quest page (and a picture is always nice.) :)
