Howdy folks,

I've been away from EQ2 for a long time now... like since just after Echoes of Faydwer long time. I've toyed with the notion of making a come back many times but ultimately choose not to. However, with the upcoming expansion (and of course the other two I haven't played yet) I am tempted greatly.

Here's my thing: my main character is a level 70 Templar on The Bazaar. When I made my character I didn't know that the Bazaar was an Exchange server, and thusly I could never move him to a better server (AB for example). Now, as I understand it, the whole game is technically now the same as the Station Exchange Servers used to be (correct me if I'm wrong please).

That said, have they opened up the ability to transfer from an Exchange server to a non-Exchange server? I don't much feel like re-rolling a toon when the level cap is getting ready to shoot to 90... too daunting for my liking.

Also, in that same vein, if I were to return as a level 70 Templar, how hard would it be for me to advance? I never much liked soloing as a Templar (in fact I hated it tremendously) so really I'm just wondering if there is much of a group dynamic going on these days sub-level cap.

Thanks for any input you might have. I've always thought of EQ2 as the best MMO on the market. I just worry about returning to sit on the lurch.

P.S.
If this helps give perspective as to the condition of my character:

As far as I can see, Bazaar is still one you can't transfer from. :(

I'd think you'd do pretty well coming back at level 70.

Thanks for finding that Calthine, I looked at the Live Gamer site and couldn't find anything tied to transfers to/from The Bazaar or Vox.

So it would appear that I'd be trapped on the micro-transaction server. I'm not sure how I feel about that. When I left the game part of it was because of the quality of play on the server... basically I felt like people were buying their way up the game without actually learning to play, thus leaving me frustrated and rather down on the whole experience.

Sadly, I can't see myself returning, at least not to my former server. Maybe re-rolling on AB might not be that bad after all.

Re-roll! Shoot, you've been gone long enough that it'd be like playing a new game anyway. And Templars suck to solo. XP's pretty quick at low levels, you could zip right by 'em.

What would recommend for a solo friendly class that also serves strongly in a group dynamic? I've often leaned on healers since every group needs a solid passable healer :)

Opinions vary. I do okay with my Troubador. People like pet classes for soloing.

You could try a Defiler or Mystic - a healer with solo-friendly chainmail armour and desirable for buffs/wards/heals in groups. Inquisitor (plate healer) is fun too.

I have solo-ed both a warden and a fury to level cap (well, I'm pretty close on the fury!) and for speed and freedom, ya gotta love the druid travel options. SoW plus all those ports make moving around solo really sweet! And as a bonus, either druid has enough DPS to kill pretty quick. It all adds up to high survivability and great portability - good traits for a solo toon.

I'd go with Warden for a soloable healer. Spec for melee damage. That get-outta-here free card really makes a difference when you get jumped by multiple yellows.

I'm enjoying my little defiler, though. She's pretty tough!
