It's time to ConnecDING! with SOEFollow

Congrats on reaching the Gold level of ConnecDING! EQ2 is the only SOE game to surpass the Bronze level, so major kudos to everyone out there. :)

EQ2 hit 15,000 fans shortly before 7PM PST this evening! Hopefully the reward (500SC + a house item pillow for pillow fights) will be incoming sometime in the very near future. :)

Today is the last day for this promotion! It ends 02/10/2010 at 11:59PM PST. EQ2 is *VERY* close to reaching Gold level--at this time, we only need about 440 more people to become fans of EQ2 on Facebook.

If you haven't done it yet, sign up (if you don't like Facebook, make a fake account based on your character maybe?) and become a fan of EverQuest 2! When (and if!) we reach Gold, we'll get 500SC and a house item--a pillow that lets us have pillow fights.

We're so close now that it'd really be a shame to not hit that goal. Tell your guild mates, your family members, your friends--whatever it takes to ding that level!

SOE is running a promotion, from December 10, 2009 through February 10, 2010, where players are encouraged to socially network with three of their games: EverQuest, EverQuest II and Free Realms. As each game individually reaches their stage goals, an in-game reward will be unlocked for everyone that plays that game!

Each stage rewards Station Cash, which is in a universal wallet that can be used in any of those three games, so it'd be highly beneficial to pitch in and fan/follow all three games. The 10k and 15k stages also reward in-game items along with the Station Cash. You can read more about this promotion here.

Exciting news.... the bronze level has been reached for all three games!

How? Well, SOE decided that, due to lackluster numbers on Twitter, only Facebook is now required to meet the goals for this promotion. So congratulations to everyone who plays EQ, EQ II and Free Realms... enjoy your 250 Station Cash!

If you haven't become a fan of these games on Facebook yet--now's the time! The promo runs until February 10, 2010, and there's still more rewards if the Silver stage is reached.

I noticed this same information wasn't posted on the EQ1 forum. I figure it's for one of 2 reasons:

1) EQ1 is anathema to EQ2
2) There isn't zam staff available to update the EQ1 forums
3) (ok, 3, sue me) You assume EQ1 people are less friendly to station cash bullcookies.

Yup, it was nothing against EQ1 players (I play EQ, EQ II and FR), I just didn't want to step on anyone's toes. :)

I don't know if that will be for all three games or for just EQ II, but thank goodness, because no one was going to hit any goal with the way it was.

Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and all, but I have found Twitter to excel at getting news on MMOs. Most modern games post a twitter news feed - it's really just another RSS news feed with a different name.

Having said that, I don't really make the connection between us (people that play SOE games) and people with twitter accounts. They're just trying to keep up with the Jones' - and that's not such a bad thing.
