Tinkerers can make 'parachutes' that other players can use, there should be plenty on the broker if you dont have a Tinkerer yourself.

There are a wide variety of cloaks (mostly LON card rewards) that have some form of safefall attached to them. If you haven't yet started your harvesting quests (in the Village of Shin, boy in the lake i dont recall his name) that once you complete with Tier 8 harvesting gives you a cloak that gives you mounted safe fall even.

There may be charm items but I dont know for sure.

There's a cloak you can buy with the new spire quest rewards that reduces falling speed I believe.

Other than that, try playing a monk! :D

Thinking of the original question, try using a rug mount. I still use my Carpet of El'khazi most of the time. It doesn't say it's safe fall, but it does tend to glide rather than plummet. Plus if you need to run from a fight or move backwards it seems a little easier to backout/turn than animal based mounts. I tend to use it in preference to several faster mounts I have.

Try playing a Darkelf Shadowknight, we get hover which negates falling damage most of the time, when it works

Even after the racial changes? I could have sworn my darkie lost hers.

for Dark Elves, Hover is no longer an innate ability. it is now one that you can select (Non-Combat abilities area) for one of abilities you get every 10 levels.

With the new spire event that is up from this game update you can get a featherfall cloak for I believe 20 of the erudite tokens.

Erudites also have a "safe fall" racial ability. It's not like glide ... less control in the actual falling movement ... but perfect for long drops, and you have just enough control to land more-or-less where you want. It won't work mounted though, my primary beef with it, but I accept that as a limitation when the alternative is "splat." :)
