Lore and Legend Chart???Follow

Hello all!

Is there a guide, a post or some sainted soul that has put together, in one spot, where all the L & L books can be picked up? I would like to get my hands on that. Now dont get me wrong, Im not so lazy that I cant look it up on Zam! Its just that if there are 2 in Nek castle, I dont want to clear it twice. If I am going to hit a zone I dont want to miss the book that is there.

Any help appreciated!

There's no goats in EQ2. It's have to be for small deer.

Of course, you no longer have to get the book to start the L&L quests. Just examine one of the pieces, and you can start the quest.

A bit of a shame though (and I've heard that this isn't the case for the Vampire L&L, the only L&L though), it was fun at times trying to get to those books at a low level. Feign deading my way through Karnor's Castle to get to the Drolvarg one for instance, that was fun!

It's the case for Vampire, too. All you need is a fang.

Oh, I agree. This is just another instance of dumbing down EQII to draw the WoW crowd ( Smiley: banghead ), but hey, I still enjoy the game. Smiley: grin

Was just throwing the info out there...

Just to play devil's advocate here... was it done to chase WOW subscriptions or maybe to satisfy that faction of players who play the entitlement card? Personally I don't care one way or the other what game someone used to play but it really rankles my fur when someone gets up on their hind legs because they believe their monthly $15 carries with it a God Given Mandate for the company to deliver instant easy-button access to every fragment of content designed for the game.

I've no doubt that this particular decision was based (at least in part) on some friendless, groupless, ****-retentive moron whining because there was an L&L book in a location that required him to be in a group he would never be offered a slot in. I also have no doubt that this same player has a bookshelf full of trophies "earned" for participation ("there are no winners or losers here... everyone gets a trophy")in school sports...

Next they'll be demanding to win every time on the Gigglegibber lottery, and an instant fabled weapon on character creation...

I think the L&L changes have detracted from the game somewhat. Half of my books were gathered using the "Invis, grab book, run like hell" method!

You can still choose to get the books if it's important to you. /shrug

It's about a sense of accomplishment more than anything else (for me anyway). There is little enough in most games to feel good about. Avoiding the spoilers and walkthroughs helps but by design, most of the quests are narrow enough that even when you complete them unassisted there is little in the way of satisfaction since any chimp could have done as well in the same amount of time!

Just last night I stumbled across the book starter for the clockwork L&L so when it landed in inventory (after I picked it up) I examined it and it gave me a smile... It was just a little something that I could work towards completing without having been directed to do so and then walked towards completion in lockstep!

Sure; but if someone else were to get the clockwork book by finding a piece of a clockwork on a corpse and examining it, how does that affect you or cheapen your game experience? If YOU find that piece of clockwork, I'd assume you'd hold on to it until you have the book to start the quest.

Dunno, just a pet peeve of mine when someone says that making new players' gaming experience easier "cheapens" the experience of the old-timers.
